Having a problem with tomatoe's
Hi, I'm 40 months post-op and it seems that everything I eat with tomatoes hurt my stomach. Does anyone else share my problem? I love fresh tomatoes and other veggies but tomatoes are the only culprits. Any advice? I'm still losing and seem to have no other problems. I've lost over 250 lbs and my BMI is the lowest that I can remember. Take care. Susy
I'm 15 months out and I can not eat fresh or canned tomatoes, but I can eat tomato sauce. I just attribute it to the acid. I do know that I do not have an ulcer because my pouch was scoped when I was 12 months out. As much as I hate it, I just avoid them as much as possible. I just try them every few months or so...hoping i'll be able to eat them. No such luck, yet.

Do you peel the fresh tomatoes? I can eat them just fine, but it hurts my tummy when I leave the peelings on them, so I make sure I peel them first. (I also peel apples for the same reason.)
I also watch the sugar content in canned tomatoes or soup. I do just fine with Campbells "classic" Tomato soup, but I cannot eat their other tomato soups.
These pouches are funny critters!
