Where is everyone? The board sure has been SLOW lately. Come out, come out, where ever you are. I've had a nice and relaxing weekend for a change. Just when I thought it was time for things to slow down and I could start to get back into the routine of things and relax a bit on the weekends, my DH and daughters inform me that it's FOOTBALL time again......for US, that means working the concession stands at the Alabama Football games. Our church youth group (which I have two) has a concession stand we run and that's the only fund raiser we have for our teens in order for them to go on youth trips, mission trips, retreats, camp and such. So, this is a very busy season for our entire family. These consist of 12 hour workdays, as we have to be there to set up, prepare food ect. 4 hours prior to gates opening then there's clean up afterwards. Oh my, I can feel my feet beginning to ache already. It's all for a good cause and I love the PEOPLE and ACTION at the games. I usually run a window and it's fun to see all the people and excitement. I just need to get me some good walking shoes ready, as our first game is next Saturday. Okay, what's on YOUR agenda for the coming week, month, season??? Give us a SHOUT!!! Elle

Hey Elle... THANK GOD for football season...Of course...I love my Green Bay Packers. However, after getting their asses handed to them...AGAIN on Friday night, I have a feeling it is going to be a very, very looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggg season. Anywho...I remember running a few concession or souvenier stands up here in Wisconsin at the Univ. of Wisconsin Badger football games to raise money for the upcoming summer marching band seasons. Those were some super good times. It sounds like you all will have a good time too. My family and I will be moving on Wed. to our new home...well, not new (11 years old), but our third house in 8 years. Ya know, when we moved into the one we are in now, 3 years ago, I thought we would be in this one for a very long time. Not so...we found our "dream home" about 20 miles away and can't wait to get there. Therefore, we will be moving on Wed. with a lot of help, Thursday (I will be by myself) and then again on Sat. with the help of some of our friends. It will be hectic, but well worth it in the end. Hope you are safe tonight with the "impending doom" just off the Gulf Coast tonight...Please be careful and let us know when you all are safe again. Take care now and be good to yourself...Cap'n K-Man

I'm here fighting off PMS hunger so I can keep my vows for the weekend. So far I'm winning. I'm heading out on a nine-day road trip this coming Friday with my dad, his wife, his sister, my husband and me. We're going from Mississippi to Kentucky to Ohio to Pennsylvania. I just hope self-producing gas stays at bay or it will be a miserable trip with 5-8 hours every other day in a vehicle! I'm four pounds away from the century club. I want so badly to be there by the time we leave Friday. I got within 7 pounds of the century club before my staple line disruption caused me to start gaining. The ever elusive century club ... {sigh} I just want to get there this time!!! If I make it this month then I will have taken 26 months to get there from my first surgery... I think that must be a record! Have a nice evening. Enjoy those kids and how busy they keep you. They grow up way too soon! DeeDee

Just got back from a wonderful week on the North Carolina Outer Banks with my entire family. (Four grown children, their spouses, and 8 grandkids aged 16, 14, 7, 4, 3, 3, 8 months and 1 month.) It was very noisy, and lots of fun. This week my two teacher daughters go back to work and I babysit their 4 kids ages 7, 4, 3, and 1 month. Needless to say, I won't be spending much time monitoring the boards during the day! Hope to catch up some in the evening. I admire your hard work with the church youth group. I've spent many hours doing the same. It's so rewarding. Best wishes to all........ Grandma Mary

Elle the work you do with the teenagers will be remembered for years. I can tell you that I vividly remember and love my youth ministry leaders and remember them so well. Being a teen is hard now and it was hard then-drugs, alcohol and a bad spirit have alway been there. It meant so much to have an adult outside of my parents who it was safe to go to, and who by their lifes was a role model to emulate. so go BAMA!! gratitude is my attitude Amanda S VG-DS October 2001 highest >350/342 start of wls journey/154@goal and after ps

Hi Elle, I agree with Amanda, the kids that you're working with will remember you and these times with fondness for years to come. Good for you!! I'm getting myself ready to go on a trip---my family is going across Canada on the train, a 12-day excursion. I'm really looking forward to it. My parents, my sister, me, brother and his girlfriend. We leave Thursday so I'm doing a lot of last-minute stuff. So I'll be away from the boards for a while but will be back! I love this board and like to see it active, too! Hugs, Connie -147# @ goal
