anyone not hungry?
hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone else never feels hungry! A few times I have gone hours and not once had any feeling of hunger. Back in July, I was in the hospital with an infection and I was not allowed anything after midnight because my surgeon was going to remove my port.
Because it was an extreamly busy day, I was not brought down to surgery until 6pm!! that is 18 hours since I ate last! I was somewhat worried about my fluid intake because I did not have an IV.
But although I did feel somewhat thirsty I was NEVER hungry! I seem to be like that all the time, I have set up a nice schedule and eat at the same times each day to make sure I get in all my water and protein.
on another note
Because of two major infections and two minor surgeries just months from each other, my iron was low so I have been taking suppliments, well I guess they are finally working because all I have wanted to do lately is clean my house...and when I weighed myself today I had lost 4 pounds!!!
so here I am, 16 months out, down 131 pounds, over 53 inches lost and I am feeling great. I passed my doctors goal of 170 and have passed my personal goal by 4 pounds. AND I have gone from a size 26 W in jeans to a size 8..

Wow - you have done fantastic! i'm sorry about the infections and surgeries -but hope you're all well now. I don't eat becsause I'm hungry - I eat because it's time to. My doctor told me I wouldn't feel physical hunger after surgery so I went into it thinking this was true and for me it is. Somedays I forget to eat lunch or something so have a snack to hold me over till dinner, but I mostly have to look at my watch to see if it's time to eat. That doesn't mean I don't want to eat in my head - I do but physical hunger you feel I don't have. Thank goodness it's worked for over 4 years.
Before becoming pregnant, I hated the thought of food...usually drank a protein shake two out of the three meals I 'ate'. Once the nausea settled down a bit, I'm ravenous ALL the time. I'm hoping that it is nature's way of allowing me to eat more for the baby. If not, I'm going to have one helluva time getting back to my old routine come November.

Hey Donna,
I'm 4 years out next week, and have yet to feel true hunger. I get other signs, if I wait too long to eat, like dizziness, weakness, really light-headed, shakey when blood sugars are too low, things like this.. but never hunger. I guess my body tells me in different ways to eat. Although it doesn't happen much anymore, as I seem to graze too much (ugh) it really happened a lot during the first year. I almost passed out many times due to this. I would get the same symptoms from not drinking for long stretches.
