Hi Jeannie First, without meaning any disrespect, let me say that many doctors believe transcriptionist are a dime a dozen, fat and lazy. (Before you get angry, take note that "I TOO AM A TRANSCRIPTIONIST"). I also get double takes, and triple takes. I think not so much because we are thin now, but because we are not fat. They never knew us before, so why the double take? In my opinion it is because they were expecting a fat, unkept, lazy woman, who eats bon-bons while typing a report, x2. I may have been fat, but I was never lazy or unkept. That is such a sad discrimination against someone with a weight problem. Congratulations on your double takes. You probably look like a million dollars and you deserve all the double takes you get. Take full advantage, walk tall and proud. You are an inspiration to all of us. BTW, where they got the "a dime a dozen" beats me. Good transcriptionists are harder to find than a good doctor or lawyer, we are a unique breed, the good ones of course (tee hee hee). Hugs.
