Where we belong
There is a feel that just works here. It is less frantic here. Time as taught us that today is not all that important other than to enjoy it. Seldom are there urgent posts, because we know the difference between urgent and important. We seldom see "I am so pissed at ...." posts. It is more reflective and far more honest. Again, time has removed a lot of the edges. I for one am glad that this place is a bit off the beaten path. Those who find their way here, experience it and choose to linger, know they are home.
Personally comparing this forum and the main board is the difference between the dynamics of graduate school vs Junior High.

And thank goodness for that! Even the other board I frequent that used to be a "haven" is migrating to the same kind of "main board" atmosphere. It will be nice, since this is a board of WLS "grown-ups" not to have to preface every post with "for the pre-ops and new post-ops, don't do as I do" type of disclaimer.
I promise never to start a post with "I'm so pissed... ". I rarely ever get that way anyway! Or, "am I eating too much"... hell yah, if I have to ask, for sure I am.... and I have to do something about it.
I hated junior high, and never went to graduate school. I'll have to take your word on that one!

Is it not ironic that not too long ago a pre-op submited an URGENT post on this board regarding a lap-bad their insurance won't pay for? I can certainly understand why the post is important to this person, but not why it is posted as being urgent? Grads know the difference between urgent and important! If something is urgent, it is time-sensitive.

Martha,
I don't have a problem with asking for directions. In fact, I have to ask for them so often I bought a fancy schmancy navigation system when I got a new car recently. But it didn't have OH board maps in it.. .so I had to ask!
I'm glad you followed along with me! Seems more than just you and I were looking for this place.

Great to see you found the grad board. I could have sworn I sent you, Patti and Margo the address weeks ago in an e-mail. Maybe I intended to send it and something like work came up and I never got around to it.
You fit the profile for a grad in every way and will add a lot to this board. OH tries hard to keep this board a secret by not listing it with the other message boards.
