just found this board
Hi Y'all,
Just found this board after reading a post on another one. What a wonderful forum this is! I too get tired of reading some of the stuff on the other message boards from those just starting out this journey. I'm very happy to have found other's further out from surgery just trying to keep on track and live life with their new bodies.
I'm 14 months out, have been at or below my goal weight for months now, and adjusting to life as a skinny person. It's so nice to find a group of people in the same boat that understand where I've come from and that have the same daily struggles.....like eating right, avoiding old patterns etc...etc.
Hope to soon enter into the next phase of this journey....the excess skin removal. Had a plastic surgery consult, got the rejection from my insurance company, going for it anyway. Was told by the plastic surgeon that I'm thinner and more fit than most gastric bypass patients he's met. Not too excited about going through more surgery, but very excited about the final results. Hey I spend LOTS of time in the gym working on this body and my abs especially....and I want to see my hard abs after the skin is gone.
I feel like I'm "home" here on this board. Thanks for listening everyone!
Have a nice rest of the day!
