I told the doctor I was tired all the time
Well, Good Morning!!! I just wanted to give you an update on my doctor's visit. Remember, I am the one who just found out that I have hypothyroidism. Well, I had to return to the doctor yesterday as a follow-up for all the lab results. I have been on the Synthroid for 1 1/2 weeks and feeling better so I thought that I had this thing whipped. Not exactly. The lab test also showed that I am anemic and get this........I have had mono in my recent past!!!! I TOLD THEM I WAS TIRED!!!!!! She told me that the mono is not active now as I am forming antibodies but I have had it recently. What is wrong with doctors now-a-days????? I am glad I changed doctors and found one that will run various tests to see what is wrong.
Oh and BTW....... I have lost 3 pounds !!!!!!!!!!! I am attributing this to the thyroid meds because I have done NOTHING different since I started taking them. As a matter of fact, I haven't been to the gym because I can't seem to get up at 4 a.m. since school has started back. Soon!! I will get back, I am just about back into my routine of teaching.
Have a great day!!
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl--Good that you did switch docs and have found someone who listens to you. Sounds like all treatable things--which is good. I am told it takes 6-8 weeks for the medicine to show the results in the thyroid test. Congrats on losing the 3 lbs. Have a great day. BTW--I agree 4 AM is just too early.
Lynda,
Yes, the doc said it would be at least 6 to 8 weeks before I felt the full benefit. I am soooooo ready!! The nurse told me not to expect much pertaining to the weight loss, but I didn't feel like explaining to her that my plumbing is drastically different than most and her "advice" on portion control was making me laugh!! I will get past this and feel like me again!
Thanks,
Cheryl
Hey Cheryl,
Congrats on the 3 pounds, thats great. I'm glad to hear you have a doc that is really working to helping you out. Sounds like you're getting back on track. What is he doing for your anemia? How on earth can they tell you've had mono recently? Didn't you feel poorly? I'm fighting swollen glands this week myself, hoping its just a bad cold, and it leaves soon, as I haven't been to the gym in 3 days and its killing me. I had just started getting used to all my new classes, and it was making me feel great about working out again.
Keep in touch
Wendy
Wendy,
It was a special blood test called "E Stem bar" or Esteem bar" I am not sure I am thinking that thi**** me in January 05' after I had my 2nd spinal surgery. I felt like death for a month. The surgeon went thru the front of my neck to my spine. I hurt all over but attributed it to the surgery.
Thanks,
Cheryl
Are you thinking it is Epstein-Barr virus? http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/mono/test.html
