Today I vow to:
? Eat fewer than 1000 calories and a minimum of 60 grams of protein.
? Drink a minimum of 80 ounces of water.
? Eat no more than three meals and one snack - no grazing!
? Go to church after work instead of the gym.
? Clean my bedroom and go through the clothes I can't wear any longer.
I kept my vows yesterday! My husband and co-worker both wimped out of going to work out at the gym after work (it's right there in our office complex which is so convenient!). I went anyway --- yay me! I had 689 calories, 58 grams of protein, 103 ounces of water, didn't graze and I worked out. I feel so terrific when I accomplish what I set out to accomplish. I love this post as much as some of the rest of you do ... it really helps keep me accountable.
How did you do yesterday and what are you vowing to do today?

Awwww, Wendy, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I certainly hope you keep your vow today --- just making it is a good thing. Besides, we need you around here! Get some rest, plenty of liquids... oh wait, I'm not a doctor, I can't dispense medical advice. You just take care of yourself and get better!

Dee Dee... What an acomplishment !for you !!! I know I always feel better when I complete my tasks each day.
Yesterday, wasn't so good for me.... My own fault.
At work we had a pig out and even though I tried hard not to eat the 'junk' I did stray a bit. I focused on protein, and veggies, etc. Errrrrr I did graze all day though. I came home from work and didn't do a darn thing !!! I know if I would have worked out I would have felt better, But, my one acomplishment I didn't snack at night.
Today, I vow to:
No in between meals
Drink at least 64oz of water
Have a great time at my girlfriends bday party tonight.
today my goal is to enjoy life. I have a nice cleaning lady doing my house top to bottom and I am going to play today.
taking the grandkids to the park & going down the slide with them, feeding the goats at the petting zoo and having a picnic on the grass.
then after their parents pick them up DH & I are visiting with friends and hopefully he will suggest going out to dinner. ( I can always suggest macaroni & cheese for dinner to boost him along on that!) LOL
it is going to be a beautiful sunny day & perfect to play out side.
I already went to the health club at 530am & did 45 min of cardio.
yesterday I went to the boot camp class and my G*D !!!!I am trying to find a muscle that is not sore but no luck on that! I wish I could afford to do the whole 12 week program, but costs over $800. the instructor gave me a free class this time. If I did 12 weeks of that I'd be in fine shape.
WTG DeeDee! It sure does feel terrific when we accomplish what we set out to do. I'm sure you will have a successful day today as well.
I met all my goals for yesterday! And I already did my treadmill for today.
I have minor shin splints, but I'm still going to take it easy this first week back exercising. It dawned on me last night that I haven't been stretching before and after I do the treadmill. Duh!!! No wonder the shin splints. You better believe I stretched today....LOL..... I will up my time a little each day until I get to approx.45mins.
Todays goal is to:
1.Get All my water in.
2.Get All my protein in.
3.No Grazing.
4.Eat Slower.
I will ck in later. I'm off to working for a friend at her home two days a week w/organizing paperwork and such. So my other goal will be to try and tan a little today if I can and get to church tonight too.
Have a blessed day everyone!
Jeannie
4.Eat Slower.
Hi all,
This forum came at an opportune time for me. I was getting tired of the same old, same old on the regular board. I do love my February 2004 family though, very much. Thank you all for making this such a positive place to be. I am having some major health problems now (fell 4 times in the last month breaking ankle, ring finger, fracturing skull, 3-4 ribs in 3 places, huge abscess over my hip prosthesis) and need to keep myself accountable among all the aspects of my life.
DeeDee, You seem to be doing so well with the vows. I am proud for you. This is just what I need to be able to focus on what needs to be done and incorporate maintenance in my life. Is that even possible???
Today I vow to work on "perfecting" my fluid intake:
have 64 oz of plain water,
can still have all the crystal light, sf kool aid, & iced tea I want,
cut down the coffee to 1 mug day on its way to none a day, plus
cut down that pesky Pepsi Edge to one can a day on its way as well.
I hope all who post will keep their vows today. One day at a time.
Paula
Sorry to be so long
Today I vow to:
Eat food that nourishes my body healthfully (perhaps. . .pizza rolls weren't the perfect breakfast. . . .I own that. . .)
Drink enough fluids (well on the way already)
Run 3 miles on my Tempo Run
take my vitamins (well on the way already)
Yesterday I ate decently, drank enough, I avoided the snack monster as it wasn't a running day. I ended up leading my support group instead of being a member. . .and it was a joint meeting of pre-ops/short-term post-ops and long term post ops. We did what I tend to do when I lead - play "Scare the pre-ops". . .whoops. We ended up doing a lot of backpedaling explaining that "yes this surgery requires work, and effort, and long-term committment" and that "yes, this surgery can sometimes make some days harder to deal with because we've lost our beloved coping mechanism". . . One woman looked indignant at a discussion of the need to continue to eat less, work out more. . .and finally said "so, what's the point of getting the surgery then if I have to do diet and exercise for the rest of my life?!?" . . . that took some amazing patience not to throttle her. . . .
*sigh* I'm not really a good cheerleader for newbies - watching the youngins eating crap food like cheesy potato puffs. . at less than a month out - and I'm grossed out and irritated instead of loving, forgiving and understanding - princess pizza roll that I am. . .
Anywho, that's me.
I'm outta here for the day,
~Lara
