Here I am... 16 months and almost 1 week out of surgery. Right now Im 115 lbs and stand at 5'4. I still dont think I eat "enough" (maybe Im wrong) But Im still losing about 2 lbs a month also. small example. I can eat a whole piece of toast at one time, and yes that fills me up. I can eat 2 pieces of cheese at one time, and again yes that fills me up, maybe a tat to the point of even being a tat uncomfortable. I can eat maybe a 1/2 of a tuna sandwich, if im really hungry, without the crust on, and throwing aways alot of the bread. Just small examples of what I can eat... Any thoughts??? And pleaseeeeeeeeeee dont be harsh Shelia

Maybe add protein shakes? I've also heard of doctors telling patients to eat some chips or crackers if they cannot stop the weight loss. I unfortunately (or fortunately) don't have have that problem! I'd also talk to your doctor! Good luck! Laina Lap RNY 9/9/03 245/pregnant so we won't discuss current!/145 lowest/135 goal

Hi Ya shelia... we are the same height. Congratulations on the weight loss ...and I promise to be kind *hugs*... I saw on your profile some info on lossing too much... now I dont know if that fits you.. only you and your doc could figure that one out. Your bmi now is 19.7 and still in normal range... so Im not flaming you.. heck I think you have done wonderful. I would ask my doc... what he thinks cause he is the one that can see your body and tell you what his professional advice is. You are lucky that your pouch is still relatively small and you fill up so fast. I think you are doing terriffic and would consult the doc for professional advice on when to stop the weight loss if it doesn't show signs of stopping when you reach the bottom of the BMI normal range. hope you have a great week..... will trade tummy pouch's with u lol wanna? deb

The assertion that a BMI of 19.7 is still in normal range is correct. But that in and of itself does not mean that she is not underweight. Bone density, muscle mass and body fat composition are more meaningful indicators of the weight of an individual. BMI is only useful as a measure relative of weight against a larger population. Never assuage your concerns by pointing to a BMI. Destructive loss of muscle tissue, organ damage and other degenerative issues can exist while the BMI is still in the normal range. Nowhere Man

Well, Sheila, I wish I had your dilemma! LOL joking. I have been beating myself up about eating way too much today. Sounds like you are not getting enough calories in, try eating some hi calorie hi protein stuff. There are some protein bars that are like 350 calories a bar but have 40 grams of protein. You might have to break the rules, eat stuff that doesn't fill you up like yogurt and then eat your regular meal. How many calories do you think you are taking in a day? Maybe it's time to see a nutritionist. Good luck and WTG on your loss!! Michelle 294/149

I went to fit day and looked yesterday I ate like around 1,000 calories, and today so far Ive had a bit over 700.. but the night is still young lololol..... Ive tryed the protien drinks and protein bars and they all seem to make me really sick. Throw up sick even. No fun at all. I go back to my sugron in Oct, will see what he says then I guess. But down another lb as of this morning... now 112... arggggggggggg Shelia Thanks

HI Shelia... I cant say that I have EVER had that problem either..well wait yeah...I was working out alot and learned that I wouldnt lose as well if I ate too little... But the whole process has been sloooow for me even despite my hard workouts and weight training along the way. I agree with some of the others that you should eat more protien and sometimes the softer protiens are easier to get in...;cottage cheese, yogurt etc.... I'd give ANYTHING if I were still losing! That is great though that eating a little fills you up! At this far out...seems I can eat more. I also am almost 16 months out and down almost 120. I am 5'2". Have you had labs done lately and how do they look? But definitely consult your PCP. Good luck! you look great! Julie

I bought me some cottage cheese yesterday.... am trying to get some of that in here and there.... I also nibble on reg cheese alot. Yesterday I got in like around 1,000 calories, and so far today its around 700. Seems funny tho that I can eat so little and be full... Dont you think??? Today for lunch I had 1/2 of a turkey sandwich with cheese, tore the crust and outter edges off the bread. And had a hand full of chips.... Ive never really watched my calorie intake or my fat and all. Ive just ate. Just always try to get protein first. I work in a clinic... Im a tat bit anemic.. but nothing major... other labs look pretty good too. But going to do all them before I go to see my doc in Oct.... Thanks for your kind words... Thanks Shelia ohhhh down another lb this a.m. now 112.. argggggggggggg
