Well....
Where shall I start. I think I am going to totally never go to any dr or anything again. I use to fear the dentist.... well I can stand him more than any other medical person I have came across.
Someone let me know if theres a sign on my head and what it says?
After all I been through then consultation (PS) number 6 (dif dr of course)
what lines do I hear....
"your BMI your still obese why would you want to go through surgery to gain weight back"
"maybe youy should try a little harder to lose weight"
" I will submit to insurance but chances are your to overweight"
"no i wont do an anchor abdominoplasty as it will just get stretched again"
WOW shall I just like get my gun permnit now or wait?
So in total sadness and discust.....
BEEN 3 years since I have touched fast food.
I went to Mcdonalds I ordered a Big mac meal yes the meal... sat at the table by myself with tears in my eyes..... Looked at the food.... I then got up and through the whole untouched meal in the trash and left.
I dont care what that punk has to say. I am not going to be put down to the point I will give in to something I have avoided for so long.
I don't know where to go from here.... but I am very very angry, sad and hurt right now.
Just had to get this off my chest.
Just an idea: maybe you aren't so overweight. Have you ever been underwater weighed (Oh boy, here she goes again!). Underwater weighing gives you the truest assessment of your fat to lean body mass. I'm 15# heavier than the "tables" say I should be and that is 15# higher than my original goal. But I was able to finally accept my weight and call it my goal by getting underwater weighed and finding that for my age and height, my 23.8:67.2 fat/lean body mass--is below average on the fat side!! That means all this eating right and exercising has paid off despite what the tables say.
Most universities that have swim teams have hydrostatic weighing equipment and many offer a service to the public at a very low cost ($20 in my area). It takes less than an hour of your time, you do have to wear a swimsuit, get in the deep end of the pool and blow out all your air and then hold it for several seconds while you are "dunked"--3 to 5 times to get an average!!--but it's worth it.
Maybe doing this, if you find a favorable report, would convince your plastic surgery that this is the time for your surgery.
Good luck!!!!!!

I just dont get it.
I have 19% body fat.
Lots of muscle.
Stupid in network drs.... they dont want to take what my insurance pays... well its just another dr on my list
Sabrina...I FEEL YOU. I have been turned down 3 times because I DONT HAVE ENOUGH HANGING SKIN. I HAVE LOST 2 people for GODSAKE...I SAID 2... 226#s and yet this JERK tells me that I DONT HAVE ENOUGH HANGING SKIN...it needs to be 4 inches in my abdominal area. Welll I am pretty talll and my skin doesnt just hang like that, but it DOES HANG...BEAST... SO yea...I FEEL you ...STUPID network doctors...
THEY stay on you to lose the dam weight an now that you do...WHERE IS YOUR REWARD? SHOULDNT YOU HAVE SOME SORT OF REWARD for doing this? That is how I FEEL...I am going for PS Dr #3 at the end of this month and I will fight the same fight as you...KEEP TRYING...DONT GIVE UP.
HUGS...CHristmas baby
I hear ya TOO!
I felt totally disgusted after I saw one doctor when he told me I needed to lose more wieght...I was sad and hurt and not that I didnt already know that but it just hurt...and I drove over 400 miles to see him!
The second doctor kind of told me the same thing but never once told me I HAD to lose weight...the way he went about it was sincere...more like if you want to have the BEST results possible....you need have less body fat....I came away not being hurt or angry but MOTIVATED! I already knew that and probably started my search a little too soon!
But wierd huh? The first one actually told me that the reason they do that is because if they do the PS and then we lose weight....we will NOT have optimum results.....and people try to sue!
I feel for ya....what a downer....but I understand. FOr me...Iwasnt trying to get it approved by my insurance..Ijust plan on paying out of pocket as I WANT TO CHOOSE the BEST PLASTIC SURGEON for me! Not one that the inurance companies send me too!
Dont know where i'll get the money...but I will get it somehow when the time is right!
I wish you luck!
Hugs! Julie
Hi Sabrina! I just wanted to send you a great big cyber (((HUG))). Don't listen to that A**! You are a beautiful, fit, healthy woman. You KNOW that you are not obese or even overweight any more, your low body fat PROVES that! You were incredibly strong to throw that fast food away; I don't know if I could have done that.
Don't give up on your quest for PS, IF it's what you REALLY want (I personally think you look great)!
Hang in there, and know that we are here to support you!
