I'm back from a long weekend at the Kentucky cottage where high speed can only be found by the experts who KNOW those mountain curves much better than me (or they drive a coal truck and thus can rule the road). Not doing my vows brought me back with a couple extra pounds too - yuk! So, today I vow to: ? Eat fewer than 1000 calories ? Drink a minimum of 100 ounces of water ? Eat only three meals and one snack - NO grazing! ? Work out in the gym after work. What are your vows for this start of a new week? DeeDee

Hi Lucy, We both had similar experiences yesterday at church. I started crying not long after I got to my seat and the music was an upbeat song but when I saw my pastors wife smiling at me (she is our praise and worship leader) I just started crying. It was as if she looked right through me and saw my pain. It was strange crying throughout such an upbeat song, but the annointing was moving in me and I am grateful for those tears, for they brought me much peace in the end. There is nothing that can beat being in the presence of the Lord. I can't stress enough the importance of getting ALL our protein in. I know you know this. Hey, we all know what we are to do, but sometimes don't do it. I'm not trying to get down on you at all, for I am the last person that has the right to tell anyone what to do or how to do it when I struggle too. But, I know the importance of encouragment. It helps motivate us to get back on track. So what can I do to help you today to get all your protein in? I know for myself, I have been having tuna fish available on demand to snack on instead of the bad carbs. I was snacking on, to guarantee me getting ALL my protein in. I feel so much better since I have and because I have cut out the not so good carbs too. Those extra carbs. are such a downer for me. My mood is much better w/out them. Hope you have a much more successful day today. I know you can do it girlfriend! We 'CAN' do it! We 'WILL' do it! Woooooooooohoooooooooo!!! Feeling like a cheerleader here... Talk to ya soon Lucy. Wish we could get some of the rain you're expecting today. I was a competitive swimmer in high school and always looked forward to the storms rolling in and the coach blowing his whistle and getting us out of the water. Swimming a mile at 5:30 in the morning was a lot of work but it sure kept me in shape during my teen years --- I should have stuck with it! =) Good luck to you today. DD

Welcome Back DeeDee! In spite of the weight gain and the Mountain travels, I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. I'm in your corner routing for ya'. I know you can do all that you know to do today. Be encouraged! Yesterday I met my goals except for getting on that treadmill. Grrrrrrrrr.. But today is another day. So with that said and done, today I aim at the following: 1. Get ALL my H2o in. 2. Get ALL my protein in. 3. NO bad Carbs. 4. NO Grazing. 5. Get on that treadmill for 20mins. once and for all. (Oh,God help me.) I am happy to announce that I got 2Lbs. off this weekend. I have a few more to go to get back to 145 even though 150 is @goal for me. Being @145, my cothes don't fit as snug as being at 150. Anyway, I am happy to be back to the basics. It really does feel good to be on track again. This daily accountability is helping too. Thanks again for keeping me honest. I found those 2 pounds you lost --- you want them back?! =) I agree with the bad carbs and grazing... not only does it make me feel bad but it makes me REALLY feel bad when the aftermath hits. I hope you got that treadmill in today - I did!! DD
