I'm binging, AUGH. I'm preparing to move back to Phoenix to be with my honey who I left last October but who has stuck with me through everything the last four years. He is truly a great guy and I was stupid to leave him. Fortunately he stuck around while I got my head on straight. So, I'm dealing with packing the apartment by the end of the month before the movers arrive, preparing for the move, dealing with work, saying goodbye to my kids who are going to college here in California and trying not to panic because I won't have a job there (unless the corporate office takes me back). My response to the stress? EAT!! I can't seem to stop, even though I know what I'm doing. Today has been the worst, though not even remotely as bad as it would have been two years ago before I had this life changing surgery. Can anyone give any suggestions on how to get through this stressful time without gaining? I've been fairly stable for the last six months or so and am happy where I'm at (though as usual, I'd like to lose 5 more pounds). Y'all are so great, any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated. Fanny 297/150/happy as a lark who has all the worms to herself

hi there... gosh I guess if I had a suggestion it would be ... make up for the over doing with exercise... do you walk or anything? log on to fitday.com commit yourself to watching what you put in your mouth add in calories is an eye opener... call a friend and get outta the house... walk the malls...go dancing.. brain surgery would work but ... they haven't gotten that one down yet darn it. I guess if you know your going to stress have the good munchie things available and not the bad ...ones. carrots, celery and such... Hope that helps.... *hugs* deb

I'm at work so getting away from the puter and munchies is harder right now. I do work out regularly, tonight is cardio so that'll help. I've chewed more gum today, my jaw hurts. Thanks for the ideas though, I've not had the brains to come up with all those, are you sure they didn't do brain surgery on me? Hugs... Fanny

Hey Fanny, I'm great at giving advice, no so good at following it. That being said, everytime you get the attack of the munchies, grab a bottle of water, and power load on it! Best of luck with your move! Wendy

Hey Fanny, I hear ya! Stress eating is bad, my problem is boredom eating! What I've been doing is trying a combination of what everone else has said: I will drink as much water as I can. What that doesn't do it for me, I've been eating alot of turkey jerky lately. It lasts a long time because it takes so darn long to chew, but it's also low in calories and fat! Try some turkey jerrky. And still, if that's not doing it for you, stuff your mouth with as many SF Philly Swirls as you can until you can't stuff anymore.... at 10 calories each you may only get through 3! Since I can't sometimes help myself from snacking, I try to snack on better things and keep my mouth busy. Good Luck!! Michelle 294/150 P.S.- Every time I go to Pheonix I think "bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do...whatcha gonna do when they come for you" LOL. Phoenix is a nice town but they seem to films alot of "cops" episodes there.
