Sometimes this evil monster comes out and FORCES me to eat sweets ... and just like Flip Wilson... all I can say is "The Devil Made Me Do It!" It's rare but, unfortunately, today was one of those days. My small little five-person office has over 20 candy jars, two lateral file cabinet drawers FULL of candy, and stuff coming in from vendors all the time. So, yes, on occasion I just totally lose control.

every day i eat a sweet ..it may not be a big candy bar but my sweet tooth craves something i try to eat fruit most of the time but sometimes the fruit dont cut it and if i buy candy with sugar alchol i get sicker than eating real sugar
i usually have a biscotti with my second cup of coffee i love them but limit myself to only 1 a day and once a week i treat myself to a cannoli but dont put the powdered sugar on it and eat only half the shell..
if im craving chocalate bar i buy one break off half throw it away and take other half home and saver it..
not bad compare to i used to eat 4 candy bars a day before surgery eat 5 cookies

I eat sweets and have for quite some time. I didn't when I was in the first phase of weight loss but have ever since. If I go to a graduation party or wedding I have a piece of cake, I hardly ever fini**** but I have some. I have chocolate every once in a while, and I could probably have a s'more if I wanted to, but that's just too much at one time and would be too sweet I think. I'd have the chocolate or the graham cracker or the marshmallow but not all at once. I don't deprive myself and if I want something I have it - usually it's half or just a few bites - not the whole thing. For me this surgery is learning how to eat healthy not about depriving myself.
Once in a while I do. I think if I didn't I would feel deprived and like JoAnn said a cookie or one piece of candy occasionally is not going to
destroy all my hard work. Remember when a bag of cookies and a box of chocolates weren't unusual!!!!!
We are people not machines. a little splurg once in a while is nice.

My take on it? Well, I can't believe he'd eat it in front of us and NOT share! That's just RUDE!
Yes, I eat sweets -- and NO, I don't mean the sugar free stuff. That being said, I did NOT make it a point to eat "sugary" stuff during the LOSING phase. My first year post-op, I followed "my" plan and my plan was to MAXIMIZE my honey moon period. I had 230 lbs to lose to get to MY goal, 200 lbs to lose to get to my docs goal. Couldn't do that by "allowing" myself treats here and there, sugary or sugar free, it didnt matter.
BUT - 2.5 years later, Post op and at Goal? Yep, I allow myself the "real" stuff now, vs the sugar free crappola stuff.
My take on it? It's now back to the same ol' grind of CALORIES IN -vs- CALORIES OUT. My body doesn't care if I got 200 calories from a sugar filled treat or 200 calories from a sugar free treat.
200 calories = 200 calories - so Lei is gonna get the best bang (taste) for her buck (calories).
