New to this board
Hi I had my surgery 2 years ago July 30. I just learned of OH about a month ago and of this site a week or so ago. How I wish I had known of you before. When I had my surgery I knew no one else who had gone through this. My grown children live out of state and I went through this pretty much alone. My journey thus far has been pretty much on my own. That is why I am so glad to now have all of you. I have been reading abou the protien shakes. I have never, repeat, never had a protien shake. I have not seen my surgeon in over a year. I feel OK but have no idea what my labs are. I think I will call my the Doc who did my surgery and make an appointment. Thank you all so much for educating me and being such an inspiration do exercise, drink the water and do all the other things we are supposed to do. Like all of you I feel I have been given back my life. I not only feel so much better but I look in the mirror and wonder who that woman is looks back at me. This has changed my life. I know this is long post and I thank you for taking the time read it. Now, let's all go out today and work on those goals!
Welcome Charlie,
I cannot imagine what my journey would have looked like without OH...I depended so heavily on the Over Fifty Forum for support, and on the California State Board for connection with others. It was very important for me to physically meet others, and I did so at a National Convention in Hollywood. I also attended some local face to face social gatherings. A local support group meeting once per month was also provided by my surgeon.
Bless you, and your strength to have done this alone.........whew, what a gal!
