pumpkins and puppies!!!
I have learned something this year, DO NOT GROW PUMPKINS if you have puppies. my two dogs are actually about 15 months old but they still ask like puppies. we got two litter mates from a rescue place last summer and they were born about the same time I had my surgery.
these are just two mutts that weigh about 30 pounds but the stuff they do can either be funny or **** me off.
Hubby came home today and told me to go check out my pumpkins, this is the first time I have grown pumpkings and it was kind of neat to watch them grow. Well in the past few months I has a few go AWOL but I thought maybe with the drought we had that they had just shriveled up and died... well I finally found out what the heck was going on.
these two pups were playing with them like balls!!! they had rolled one to the point of breaking it off the vine and another was gone. They must have had a good ole time and the only reason I am not super pissed is I did not have any big plans for the pumpkins, was just going to decorate my front porch in the fall and then let hubby use them for target practice.
I guess since I figured out what happened to the pumpkins I now know why there are not many watermelons in the garden this year!!

When I was a teenager we lived next to a field. One year they planted watermelons. My bassett would dig a hole under the fence and would steal watermelons! The little ones of course. One day he was out foraging and the farmer caught him and started a huge stink! I thought it was funny. Heck, what was a few watermelons when you had 20 acres of them?
Thanks for bringing back fond memories. Wish I could grow something besides weeds.
