I have gained back 25 lbs, I went through a bout of depression when I lost my mom to cancer. I am back on track now working to get the weight off, I am thankful for people like you Charlie, your words of advice help people like me become grounded again and do what we need to do to lose again. Thanks!

Nancy....25 pounds you say. Remember when 25 pounds was NOTHING? Remember when you wished all you had to lose was 25 pounds? Piece of cake. A walk in the park. Well, its a little harder now...but not a big deal. You can do it. I'd shoot for 5. Then I'd only have 20 to go. Then 5 more....little steps. Hang in there.....and keep it up. And keep us posted on the progress. A lot of us are 'dieting'. Its not a dirty word as some think. Its our saving grace. Hugs Charlie

Hello! I think everone is a little different. I am certain it is a struggle for many or most to keep the weight off, but I do not have that problem. Sure, I still worry about it. I have not gained anything, but I do have other issues that are very long term or permant. I now always eat breakfast. We all need a little help and encouragment. Your thoughts and actions to keep off your WL are admirable. You go girl!

...I didn't either have ANY issues with regain, until I hit year three. I hear this is almost a given with "most" long term postops. So one small piece of advice? When you get near your three year mark - watch the numbers closely....I've lost 4 of the 10 I gained. Uck...and it is NOT easy to lose this far out...not as hard as preop, but no where near as easy as the first two years.

Tooter--for me it was two years. It is funny cause I was feeling a little smug. I had read often about this magical two year thing and all of a sudden Boom! I went up TEN pounds. Making excuses here--I know part of it is my knee problem that causes me great pain--but part of it is just pad habits sneaking back in. I've been working at getting rid of it for a while now.

Yup..you are so right. Smug is a bad thing to be! I told Dx yesterday, when ever I get even a little smug, something smacks me in the nose like a bad dog lol. It is a forever learning process. Hugs!
