Row Call- WLS Grads that Lurk
Hey Deb:
A Magic Bullet is a small blender that has lots of cups. It's very easy to clean, and it chops ice like a miracle worker. That's the Brand Name. It runs between 50 and 60 dollars.
My 9 year old has watched the infocommercial too many times on TV Guide Channel. She tells me "It will change your life forever!"
Anyway, a lot of people in our support group have bought one, and it really does make it a lot easier to get your protein in, because they're more like shakes.
I still like to use skim milk, but many of the group just use water and ice.
We also add things like sugar-free syrups (DaVinci brand is our favorite), sugar-free pudding mixes, sugar-free hot choc. mix. etc.
Since I got the Magic Bullet, I have been ever so much better about drinking a protein shake every morning and every night. That's a guarantee of 50 grams of protein without food!
I know you can buy them at lots of places. I bought mine at Kohl's, but I've seen them at Wal-Mart, Target, Famous Barr, etc., back with the blenders and mixers.
You know....it might have changed my life!! LOL

To celebrate my re-birthday...I went to a WLS support group meeting! The lady in charge announced my weight loss total to the group, and I became teary-eyed. This has been one awesome journey! What did you do? I should have done something special. I think I bought some new clothes for my one-year anniversary. I can't wait to see how I do this year. I need guidance from people like you. You are two years post-op! How exciting! I hope I keep losing. I need to lose 30 more.
Hugs and happiness, Tammy
aww I really didn't do anything special this time.. I know I should have but it was at the end of the school year and was just caught up in doing all the "have to do things" dr appointments blah blah so that I could enjoy my summer. Ya know girl I remember pre op attending support meetings and seeing other ladies like myself that lost over 100 lbs and when I would see these same folks in town and recognise them at WalMart from the support meetings...I just wanted to... I dunno go up and *touch* them... and stalk them just glazing at them in wonder.
Never forget where you come from girl...and always remember you are a walking amazement to others who will only "dream" of obtaining this drastic of a weight loss.. but never taking the next step... *hugs* sooo glad to meet you girl.
Ya keep on posting ... no lurking ya hear?

Hi Deb,
I don't post very often because I don't feel like I have much of importance to contribute. I definately wouldn't win any awards for being a model WLS patient. I don't feel like I could give much good advice to anybody. I eat too many carbs and too much fat in comparison to others. I am extremely lazy about exercising. But I love this new board and love reading all the posts. I have lost 90 pounds since my surgery 22 months ago. I have about 15 more that I would like to lose. I had an abdominoplasty 2 months ago and am thrilled with the results (Doc told me I could lose another 25 pounds without affecting the tightness of the TT). If I never get to 'goal' I will still be happy with what I have accomplished. I feel happier with myself than I have in a long, long time.

Eileen, Howdy lady. boy am I glad you are here and posted.. first..
do you know .. NO you dont but im not lying..that alittle demon sits on my shoulder EVERY time i post on these sites..that NO one wants to hear what I have to say.. that im wasting THEIR time... lets see what other things do they say... ANYWAY the point is.. you are not alone. I get nervous cause I dont wanna make any "wave" blah blah.. YOU are NOT alone in feeling you dont have anything to share with others... but someone out here may need to hear from u.
You do have advice to share. if nothing else. I bet you are in the minority group posting in this site Grads..right now that HAS..had abdominoplasty .. so you definately have advice most of us are curious about or could ask you or hear from u... nooo excuse your stuck with us now. Post away and be a part of the group. This site just started a week ago so there's plenty of for new folks to feel a part of the group right off.
Life is good ... and your part of the reason... welcome welcome welcome
