A good moment......

I was in the grocery store today and saw an old friend of mine. We had been neighbors and friends for about 25 years and then she moved off the street. When I saw her, I went up to her and said hi. she said hi, I said how are you doing and she replied good and you? I said, you do not remember who I am, do you?? And she did not recognize me !!!!!!!!!! I needed that becauseI feel that I look the same and as big as I did before I lost 150 lbs. We had not seen each other since my surgery. But now I know where all my pounds went!!!!!!!!LOL This made my day. I am also one of you that has not lost anything in over 1 year and gained7 pounds. I am waiting for insurance aproval for plastics. He will be taking off 30+ pounds and I will be at goal if I do not gain any more. By the way I love this new board even though I do not post too often, I am always here. Just wanted to share this with all of you. Have a great week end. I think I will hang out at the grocery store and see if I know any body there. Betty

Great story Betty! BTW, I love Betty Boop. The same thing happened to me about a year after my surgery. I went to my daughter's for the weekend, back to the town I moved from 10 years earlier, and I saw 3 people that had no idea who I was! It was strange, I think I still at least sound the same and have the same facial features. One of these women, just looked at me with the most puzzled expression, I really thought she was kidding...but she really didnt know who I was....weird! Congrats on your GREAT moment! Joyce

Hi Betty.. its so nice to meet you girl. First the WLS moment.. how awesome girl. One of the cool things about this surgery is... some of the "folks" I use to RATHER avoid.. I can now... Now about the plastics... 30lbs wow. I hope you post before after pics... Now about the grocery store.. LOL not sure if your married or not.. but did you hear that I think it was on news a few weeks ago.. but Wal Mart was going to designate a day a week where the SINGLE folks could put a bow on the front of their shopping car proclaiming them single so other singles could do shopping for produce and mates LOL... think thats a deal.. lol Anyway have fun girl... and I agree about not feeling small... I feel as large as I use to... weird. Not sure if was cause we went down so fast, so far, or what... but its sure weird! One advantage this summer tho was I really enjoyed SUMMER more without sweating up a storm... it was hot but tolerable all summer.... brrrrrrrrrrr dread the winter tho ... feel sorry for WLS friends in the colder northern states...brrrrr have a great evening and weekend coming up betty *hugs* deb

LOL Thats a good idea with the cart ribbon. I am married and have been for 35 years so I guess not. But what a good idea. Free advertising!!!!!!!! If you are cold in Texas in the winter, come to northern Vermont!!!! It goes down to 30 below 0 here and I do freeze now. But is beautiful up here on the Canadian border. Nice talking to you.
