Hello friends, how the heck are ya?

Hello friends - Well, it looks like I FINALLY have my computer back under control. As some of you already know, I got blindsided with a ton'a viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, yada-yada-yada-ware, etc at the first of the week. Good lord, do you know how difficult it is to sign online and try to POST anything with about 30 or 40 stupid ads popping on your screen with EACH key stroke? Needless to say, that's why Ive been missing in action from several of the boards this week. My patience would only allow me to respond to a few of the Virginia Forum questions, then I had to LOG off! It was that or KICK somebody!! (or thing? like my stupid-dumb-evil laptop?) Anyway - I sent this thread to the MAIN board and VA Board, but wanted to share it with ALL of you who might have computer issues, present or future. Ive also saved the threads from yesterday to my favorites AND printed 'em out. This gal is READY for battle the next time a VIRUS shows up! On that note, Lei is gonna go exercise! LOL, yep, I said the "E" word, can you believe it? Deep Water Aerobics is calling my name, anyone wanna join me? I'm heading to Oklahoma at the end of the month (sigh-and it's official, I'm going alone - withOUT my husband). Since my girlfriends plan on dragging my white flabby butt out on the lake every day, I need to get toned and tanned!!!! The TROJANS are now OFF my computer and so are all the stupid dumb flippin' Adware and Spyware programs. Talk about a wonderful group of knowledgeable people coming together to help a desperate chicklet - I'm happy to say that I did NOT resort to drop kicking the lap top out the door. For those of you (like me) that have never heard of it before? www.TrendMicro.com absolutely RULES!!!!!!! Also, Microsoft's Beta Spyware - another awesome (and free) program. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx They both have a FREE spyware program that you can d/l for 30 days. I was absolutely AMAZED at all the things it caught AFTER other programs had been run repeatedly and missed. If you aren't sure about your computer - take the time to d/l TrendMicro.com, it's worth the time to scan. My husband did NOT think he had any problems with his laptop and ran it just for ...well, just for laughs. His lap top was LOADED (I mean really loaded) with all kinds of adware, spyware and 2 Trojans. They're all now deleted and cleaned out too. She walks you through each step to help set up the operating system to ONLY allow the "windows" program to start up. LOL, of course I have NOT explained that in the "correct techie terms" so you'll have to read HER post to get the true meaning of what she meant. The best part about this nightmare? This nightmare STARTED because of music files I downloaded off of www.limewire.com . Not sure which song was the actual culprit, but it sure wasn't worth 3 days of pulling my hair out. Ive since updated my FIREWALLS and VIRUS programs - lol, but Im not brave enough to venture to the music site again.

[sniffle sniffle] ....yes, it's OFFICIAL, found out last night. Get this? He literally goes BACK under water the DAY before we head to Oklahoma and will be gone until 3 days AFTER we return. So nope, he can't even join us. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-whine-owwwwwwwwl, I was SO Pissed when I found out, as was he. They CLEARED this vacation and time frame, THREE months ago, now they yank his butt out to sea smack dab in the middle of our entire trip. What a TERRIBLE way for him to celebrate his 40th, huh? LOL - good gawd, don't get me started woman! TOO LATE, I'll be yappin' your ears of the entire time we're at the docs office today. See you there at 3:00? Hugs - ME

Good morning Lei! I'm glad you got your computer problems straightened out! I saved the entire thread from yesterday, so Michael and I are going to sit down this weekend and see if we can figure out how to fix our system without screwing up our hard drive. I may have to send you and some of the other computer gurus an SOS, so be prepared! That really bites about Paul not being able to go to Oklahoma with you! When does he turn 40? Michael is going to be 40 this year too, on Sept. 3. I have no idea what to do to make his day special. Any ideas? His family will not be coming down from VA, so I'm searching for (inexpensive) creative ideas that the girls and I can do for him. Hope you have a great day and a good weekend! Lelina

G'morning Lelina - LOL - my lil blonde brain cell is absolutely FRIED at this point, but at least my computer is working again!!! I did the same thing, btw, saved the entire thread from yesterday to my favs, printed it and put it on a word doc. It was such a life saver. We're gonna run it all through the desktop downstairs, it's the only computer that hasnt been santized yet. Paul's was actually worse then mine!! ...and yep, speaking of Paul, it really does BITE! Can't believe this **** er, I mean crap... can we say the other word in this forum, I wonder? I get so AGGRAD with military living, especially NAVY living, the men are ALWAYS under water!!!!!! He turns the big 40 on the 23 rd of August, we were supposed to be in Vegas, then a trip back through Oklahoma, now it's just ME and Keoni heading to OKIEville. (stupiddumbnavy) Hugs - Lei

Hello Lynda - Loved the pictures that Joanne Posted of you, her and Rita!! Of course Im still jealous that I never got pictures of "us" when I was in FLORIDA in May!! Yep - the ONLY way I'll exercise, period, is if I do it first thing in the morning, if I wait till noon or later, Ive got a thousand and one excuses NOT to go. Been doing the Deep H20 class for three weeks now and still enjoy it, that's a good sign? As far as the NAVY goes? AGGRA is an understatement!!!! The flippin' sub was GUARANTEED to be in Dry Dock at the end of August which is why we booked and paid for this trip 2 months ago. It was a done deal. NOT!!!! LOL - I better shaddap before I get mad all over again. On that note, Im signing off and heading ot the GYM.
