My Walk Today
Guys,
I achieved an all time high on my walk today; 4.64 miles. And that was in 57 minutes.
The first half hour was very painful then it got easier. I don't know if it was the endorphins kicking in or the hydrocodone kicking in or a combination of both. But after 30 minutes, the pain got better. I did pretty well from that point til about the last five minutes - then the pain increased and I found myself a little less sure footed so I knew it was time to stop - and my lunch hour was over too.
I think I'm becoming addicted to these walks; even when the pain is bad, I want to go walk. I hope that's a good thing.
On another front, I have had very few calories today. I had a protein drink for breakfast - 120 caloires and then one before my walk - another 120. I just had a salad that had maybe 40 calories. That puts me at under 300 for the day - not enough I realize. I will have a nice piece of Tilapia for dinner and probably have another protein drink later. I was planning on eating my salad and chicken for lunch after my walk but I found that I wasn't at all hungry and I refuse to eat just because it's meal time.
I just hope that once I eat, I don't want to continue til I fall asleep tonight.
Hope everyone had a good and productive day.

What kind of knee surgery di you have Dee Dee? I had a total knee replacement 2 years ago and am waiting to have the other one done. Can't wait - it's worth the pain and agony.
I have tried bikes and can't handle them - have to bend the knee too much and it will barely bend. I'm quite a site walking with my cane; but I'm walking just the same.
I went to the mall a few minutes ago and did another 2.5 miles - in about 30 minutes. I wandered through the stores eyeballing clothes. Most of them are too small for me but it was nice anyway.
Keep up the good work - as bad as I hate to admit it, I think exercise is the answer to long term success - it has just taken me 3.5 years to admit it.

I planned on re starting my walks on Monday but after dinner tonight my husband made all of us get out and walk a mile. it was still kind of hot but we all did it and made it home just fine, (it was my hubby, my 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter and me)
I know once I start doing this again daily it will become easier. I really miss these walks
