Lynda, I think this is one of the biggest misconceptiions about Obesityhelp. They are NOT making millions of dollars like members seem to think. I'm sorry you personally don't like the idea of the pouchpal, but some people do like the idea. Your opinion on a product is just as important as anyone elses. Once I started working with OH I came to realize that they are not making all this money that people believe is being made. The advertising/events/magazine that does happen just covers the help we do have. The staff that we do have is very limited, compared to the actual amount of help that we do need to support the members. Just some thoughts... Amy

Amy--I certainly don't think millions are being made, but clearly OH is a for profit company. It seems to me that for profit companies when in need of funding--issue stock--they don't ask for donations. It's just my opinion--if you want to donate go ahead.

The Dry Cleaners on the corner is not making millions of dollars either, when did anyone make a donation to them? -> The idea that ANYONE is saying OH is making millions of dollars is a Red Herring. Our income covers our expenses (usually). -> "The staff that we do have is very limited, compared ot the actual amount of help that we do need..." - Hey, same here! There is never enough money to hire all the help we need. TRUE charities books are open to the public, and we can decide if enough of what we give is going to the cause we want. OH is not public. The money MAY go for a good cause... it MAY also go to the new Benz in someones driveway... WE will never know. Tek

Seems so strange to me, when we all wanted to start a fund for Momma Angel and donate to OH, so we could help her, Funny how we were told we couldn't do that.... Now you want money from us, when we were turned away, trying to help a dying woman???? I don't think so...... I think you just need to rebudget, and refocus....

I have gotten so much from here for absolutely free that a donation doesn't sound so bad when I consider how much I pay for other services and don't get nearly the value that I have from this site. The help and support I have gotten from here is truely *PRICELESS*

well me personally if we had to sign up and have a mebership fee id rather do that than donate to some dr who probally dont need it.. yes we do get plenty of support here ..but this isnt public rADIO/TV /INTERNET THEY HAVE ADVERTISERS THATS WHATSA KEEEPING THIS SITE GOING AND PLENTY OF VOLUNTERS WHO HELP I KNOW MYSELF I HAVE OFFERED TO VOLUNTEERED AND I WAS NEVER RESPONDED ABOUT IT.. i think its a picvk n choose kinda thing but no sour grapes from me.. as for giving a dr any donations and buying the pouch pal..hahahaha maybe they can advertise something a little more worthwhile that we all can use and buy
