Check this out-crap alert
Check out this thread from the main mb--http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/messageboard/postdetail/1410843.html?vc=0 Unbelievable!
John--I mentioned Vitamist yesterday while out to lunch with Joann and Rita from this board. Then this morning I see this. I sent Eric an email several months ago suggesting that there should be some standards set when accepting sponsors. This pouch pal thing (or whatever it is called) has just totally crossed over the line.
Thanks everyone for sharing your opinions ... remember that part of
ObesityHelp's purpose is to let you know what IS available and what people
think of it. We can not and will not endorse any product advertised on our
site, but we provide places where people can share their opinions and
experiences on ANY product offered for your use. We make advertising space
available to companies that want to sell products. A company that advertises
on ObesityHelp hasn't been approved or endorsed, but they are willing to
support our efforts to keep our systems running so you have free access to
everything.
Advertisers know that people on our site will talk and share information
like you're doing now. We tell our advertisers that people posting are
subject to our Terms of Service, but we won't pull comments just because
they are negative. Every advertiser understands the risk that their product
will get negative instead of positive support from our members. That is part
of advertising in the internet age.
Our TOS rules haven't always been applied as uniformly as we would have
liked, but we ARE trying to do a better job. There are advertisers who have
tried to threaten us with loss of support or who have gone elsewhere because
we wouldn't pull negative testimonials or posts, but we will stick to our
guns and not be pressured.
Don't necessarily dismiss a product just because it sounds silly though.
Give advertisers the benefit of the doubt because most of them are sincere
about what they are advertising. The Wright brothers were dismissed as silly
when they started talking about airplanes and personal computers were
dismissed as something no one would ever need. Sometimes what seems silly,
isn't really. Your posts and testimonials will help find and eliminate the
products that aren't worth it and this site is dedicated to giving you the
means to share that information. Remember though, that our advertisers have
at least been willing to support this site for your benefit and to risk your
comments. That's worth something.
