Hunger....
Lara,
You are amazing. I wish I could run....one day. Just not ready yet. I am liking biking now! Its been so long since I rode one it feels good...except when I have been on it too long...My butt starts to hurt! I have been good and stayed away from the chips...I found pretzels...not sure which is worse for me! I do have to pay closer attention to those eating cues! You seem to be doing it well. Thanks for the post!

HI there. I am really into cycling as well. I bike 12 miles a day or so. The key is comfort and being 21 months post-op there is less and less cushion on the seat...LOL May I suggest using a seat pad or a new gel seat. I started usinga gel seat and have decided to go back to the original seat with a gel pad on it. Keep on keeping on!!!!

I feel hunger -- I start with a protein shake in the morning and then after about 3 hours I am looking for something to eat.. I have started bringing a large bottle of green tea to work to sip on and then have some cheese late morning.. I try to eat mostly protein for lunch and then about 3 hours later feeling hungry again - so keep protein bars, nuts and beef jerky in my desk at work. I used to want to eat the world on my way home from work (and sometimes got into the bad habit of stopping for chips or candy on the way home) but now try to eat a protein snack on the way home. I find my worst eating cravings at night - a couple of hours after dinner (which is usually mostly protein and veggies) I want the carbs then,, crackers - popcorn - whatever I can get my hands on.. and I am not hungry then - I am just craving and wanting it.. 2 1/2 years post op - still have 75 pounds to go to goal and gaining or maintaining for the past year---
