How long till my face doesn't look saggy?

I lost about 140 pds in a year after Gastric Bypass (1.5 yrs out).  I look ten year's older due to saggy skin on my face.  Will this improve on its own over time or is plastic surgery my only hope?

Things have gotten a lot better for me.  There is some redistribution of the fat over time.  Things shift and my face doesn't look as gaunt as it did the first year or so.

It will depend on your age and skin type. All you can do is give it time and see. It will never be as smooth as when the fat smooth it out

I always heard people remark about someone, she is so beautiful, too bad she is fat.  Truth is often that women are so beautiful because of all that fat filling out their face.  Give yourself some time and treat yourself to good skin care products.  Soft, dewy skin looks better than dry skin.

It too****il about year three for my skin to look firmer again.  Things can improve.

I am one of the gaunt ones (I lost about 136 lbs in a year). The best compliment i got was "You look like a Supermodel! Beautiful and hungry!"

Seriously though, I just smile more!  Instant facelift!  I smile so much more because I finally got the "last laugh" on MO and crazy yo-yo diets that dont work.

Unfortunately my "laugh lines" around my mouth have deepened because I smile so much more!

I'm 3+ years out, am almost 47 years old now and lost 90lbs.  I must say, never considered myself a vain person but have found it difficult coming to terms with my new face.  I LOVE that I now have cheek bones, a neck, collar bones.  Love how I look in clothes (generally).  But the saggy skin on my face was (surprisingly) a surprise for me.  I didn't realize my neck would get that turkey look and my skin on my face would look so....well...saggy.  I feel like in the year of weight loss I watched an age-progression movie advance 15 years :(

I've toyed with the idea of surgery and/or something like botox but over time (and with a little regain) I have come to accept my new face.  I figure if I had to choose old-looking face but slimmer, healthier me, I would make the same choice every time.  I guess the reality is that nothing (including years of indulgence) comes without a price.  We like to trick God/nature but there is no free ride.

Andrea.

When I did my consult for PS, I asked about my neck, the puffy under eyes, and my PS said a facelift.  I was almost 59, it was the best thing that I did.  My eyes opened up, no more turkey neck and I look so much younger.  I do love having perky breasts again and no hanging panni.

Hi,

I have lost about 150 lbs and have significant loose skin. Does insurance cover the costs of this surgery?

Thanks!
