Hungry all the time
Not sure what is going on with me. I had RNY in 2008 so I am about 6 years out. I am really having a hard time with my weight. I am up about 15 -18 lbs and don't like the way it feels or looks. I use protien drinks 3 times a day so I am getting 60 grs of protien aday. I would think that would curb my hunger but it don't. I can eat and I never feel full thur the day. If I set down and eat a meal I do feel full but it don't last very long. I went back to my surgon he had me go see a nutionist but that has not been a lot of help. I am feeling like I use too just not knowing where to start or what to do. I am very active I get about 8,000 steps everyday but the weight is gathering around my middle. Please someone help me get back on track!!!!
You may look into what food do you eat. Dense proteins keep me full for hours. Carbs - even the so called good carbs - and i can eat and eat and eat...and still feel hungry. I have up starches. They make me hungry. And fruits.
Drinking protein shakes may not carb your appetite. And if the drinks have carbs. That may even make you more hungry.

I use Unjury brand. I am eating all the wrong things can't remember what I ate when I was losing. Even when I do hard boiled eggs I am hungry soon after. I feel like I am failing and very scared. I don't want to go back to over three hundred lbs again. I love 150's but not 168. I know it don't sound like much but it feels awful. I don't remember what to eat. I do take. My vitamins and exercise just eating wrong and all the time. Can't seem to tell myself no anymore.
Eating the wrong things will not help you.
When i try to break a cycle of eating the wrong foods i make sure i have good foods at home and eat threat l the time: baked chicken, pork roast, steak, cold cuts (no sugar added) fish, eggs...then add low carbs veggies like cucumbers, greens, salads, green beans, NSA pickles...etc.
First few days i would eat as much as i need not to be hungry.... Then when my body is used to proteins and veggies, i can limit portion limiting calories...
I add healthy fats, bacon, coconut oil, Olive oil, avocado, etc, and limited qty of nuts...(1serving in salad as a little crunch ).
That what works for me.

I suggest getting away from protein shakes and eating real food. Shakes are liquid and are not going to fill you up. I am not a fan, my opinion of course, some people use/like them.
I would get back to basics.. start food logging again and make sure you are eating enough, eat your 3 meals a day, 3 meals 2 snacks, 6 small meals.. whatever worked for you previously. Meals should be lean protein, vegetables, carb.. you can buy a plate to help you measure portion sizes (usually sold for diabetics, they are not expensive). Sounds like a bit of brain-hunger....you need to get back to basics, sounds like, too, the body is trying to get you back to it's default weight it is used to perhaps. See a specialist psych or someone who can get your headspace right You have come too far, happens to everyone .though. unfortunately. What about more solid protein like fish so it stays in your tummy longer, though boiled egg should do it. and make sure you are not drinking too soon after your protein meal. You probably know all this.......YOU HAVE DONE SO WELL....DON'T LET IT BEAT YOU but don't beat yourself up...like to see you win this sucker!

It is possible that you have stretched out the stoma. If that is the case, the food will not stay in you long and you will get hungry again quickly. I know there is a procedure done during an endoscopy that can cause strictures that has the effect of re-tightening the stoma. Not sure what it is called. But, really I would get away from protein shakes altogether. Take in dense protein and then don't eat, no matter the hunger level, until your next meal. Just keep going back to the surgeon... the squeaky wheel gets the grease! An endoscopy to take a look would be my target. Good luck!
Seriously. I was 550 before RNY my dDr says super sized. I lost down to 330 to 295. I did float in that range. Dr said I wouldn't loose more go ahead with skin removal. Plastics Dr said loose 30 more lbs. Got dumped. Was afraid of regain, 6 years out and went back To 8 oz lean meat 3 times a day cut carbs to prevent regain that you always hear about when depressed and lost another 107 and had skin removal. No bigger his loss:) I have pics. Pouch is good if mind is good. We are in control. RNY dDr was supprised. Plastics Dr, who is her hubby was not
