What is the best way to start losing 13 years out?
I don't think going back to liquids will help with anything...other then to frustrate the hell out of you...
You are going to have to white knuckle it for a few days....up to a week....to get off the carbs and sugar....go to myfitnesspal or another website that will assist in tracking your calories/carbs/fat and input your eats.....
IMO.....it comes down to calories.....eating high protein will satiate you best.....but as I said you have to get thru the first period of hunger and withdrawal from junk
Its damn tough....but do-able.......I began in December to watch what I eat.....lost a few....but really began to concentrate in April.....every day I log into myfitnesspal and plan my eating day.....I am sticking to roughly 1200 per day....protein is over 90 every day to keep me a full as possible.....I go to bed earlier then I did so I don't stay up late looking for what to eat while watching tv
Its coming off...albeit slowly....down 10 pounds.....still enjoying food.....just less of it and no sugar/white flour junk
You can do this....your tool is still there.....protein will make you feel your restriction best
Good luck....the mental lift from taking back control is fantastic!
Thank you so much. I have been logging the food I eat into FitPal. Never thought to pre plan my day. Dah! And you are right. It is time to cut out the sugar and slurry foods/carbs.
I really appreciate what you said and am remembering the powerful feeling of losing. I will channel that feeling when my car wants to drive thru Duncan Donuts!!!!
My FitPal name is Monday1969 feel free to follow me and keep me honest. I will do the same for you!!!!
I'm with ya! I'm 10 years out and find myself eating horribly! Now that I can't eat "normal amounts", I'm heading toward junk food way too much!! I know I need to kick in to better habits but how! I'm thinking by talking with those in the same boat it might help.
My plan is to push my protein drink for breakfast and lunch then eat dinner. My biggest problem is snacking or one might say grazing. I just need to say "no". I hate gaining all this weight back!!!
I wish you luck.
I am 10 years out and I am losing my mind from this current weight gain. I am back up to 186.6... The highest Ive been in 10 years. Came on here today for some motivation. that being said, if I went on all liquids I would completely lose my mind. If you feel comfortable doing it for a week I would say go ahead, but since I have zero willpower it wouldnt be for me!!
Ya, that didn't work out so well. I started walking. Goal is every day but I am happy with 3 days a week and anything else is a bonus. I get in about 10 miles a week.
I joined MyFitnessPal and log my food, exercise, and water on it daily. It was an eye opener and is getting me in touch with the calories associated with, say, a blueberry miffin from Duncan Donuts.
I am also working on some behavioral changes. I don't eat food in the car. I try to eat breakfast that I have preplanned in the morning, not snack at work, and pack a lunch and take a real lunch break.
I am seeing the result of not gaining right now. I try to hold onto that. My whole body chemistry took a real wack when I went into full menapause after a surgery 2 years ago. So I am accepting that and trying to readjust my expectations.
My next step is going back to bypass support group. It is on my alerts calender every week and just can't seem to get there. DENIAL?
What is your game plan? I am interested in any insights. And just by visiting this site I think that we are both getting in touch with what we need to be doing. Going back to where our journeys began. Go you.
I would love if we could encourage each other and keep each other honest and accountable.
Hz a great weekend.
