Hello! My name is Hilary and I had gastric bypass about 10 months ago. I have lost over 130 pounds and scheduled a tummy tuck and arm lift for later this summer. Has anyone else had plastic surgery after weight loss? Any tips or advice? I wrote more about my choice here

Hi I had my surgery june 12 2013 lost 75 lbs and had tummy tuck & breast uplift in Jan 2014 .This was so right to do no more sagging skin and the girls are pertly so go for it but make sure you check out your surgeon and tell him what you want done . Tummy tuck is a little hard since you can't walk upright for about 2-3 weeks but the results are well worth it , feel free to ask me questions  .

I was about your weight when I had a tummy tuck.  Let me tell you.  I have the prettiest belly in the world and not one stretch mark.  It will totally change you feelings about yourself.  As for my arms they are not that bad.   A little muscle building and they would be fine.  The pain from the tt only hurt when I first got up and then went away.  I am amazed at the muscles in my tummy.  wooo hoooo.  I could even wear a bikini.  lol  Good luck

Two years after surgery I decided to get breast implants and bracioplasty (arms).  The surgeries were done at the same time.  Let me tell you.....the breasts were no big deal as far as healing.  The arms however were painful.  Well worth it but painful.  Compression sleeves were on for several months.  My arms look great and my breasts were not for show.  They were to make me feel comfortable about myself.  I went with a 34C because after WLS I got down to 120 pounds.  So a "C" was plenty for my size.  I'd do both surgeries again in a heartbeat but prepare yourself for some major healing time afterwards on the arms.  They cut 4" of skin off each of my arms.  I wish I could get a tummy tuck but I'm about done with surgergies for a while.  I felt it more important to get the arms done over the tummy since my arms show much more than my tummy.  Good luck!!!

Thanks for asking this question. I too am curious about getting a tummy tuck and arms done (later on of course), but I want to know about the scarring, down time and cost. Did insurance cover it at all for anyone? If so, what sort of documentation did you need? How bad is scarring?

Thanks!

I am almost 3 months post op from having a lower body lift, inner thigh lift and a Brazilian butt lift. Loving the results, I was a self pay, it cost under $10,000 including my airfare.  Check out my profile for my review of my surgery and my post op pictures too...

Thanks for posting your question.  I've lost about 120 pounds and recently saw a plastic surgeon for a consult.  He's recommending me for a tummy tuck and breast lift and estimates I'll be scheduled in April/May.

I've been watching lots of YouTube vids about procedures - both pre and post op.  If you haven't done so you might find some of that info useful.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.  Best of luck.
