Howdy.  I had the RNY surgery about 10 years ago.  I lost 85 pounds and slowly have gained back half of what I lost.  My eating is terrible, and was wondering what should I do and if a revision is the answer?

I'm sorry to put this bluntly, but you know the answer -- you just said your eating was terrible. Start weighing and tracking everything you eat, and go back to your old eating plan.

If you continue eating badly, a revision won't help.

I'm almost 9 years out. Regained 40 pounds  stayed there for 3 years. At the beginning of this year cut out crap slider foods. Started tracking on myfitnesspal on 3-28. Have lost 16 lbs including  10 since I started tracking.

Calories 1200, carbs less then 30.

You can do this.

Yes, you already know the answer to this. . . it is very simple, but very difficult.  You HAVE to go back to using your tool, and the only way to do that is to eat dense protein first and it's ALL about calories. . . start tracking everything you eat.  Not sure what your height/weight is, but you should eat about 10 calories for every pound you weight - to MAINTAIN. . .subract 500 calories to loose.  If you weigh 150, you should be eating 1500 calories a day to maintain and 1000 to loose.  Apparently, weight loss after RNY (of regain) is a very slow process.  Just track everything and drink A TON of water.  That will make a huge difference.

i am just shy of 2 years out and gained back 17 lbs of my 119 loss.......    we know the rules and sometimes we get complaicent and fall back into our bad habits that got us fat to begin with ... I started today with going back to how I ate after surgery and I see that I am not hungry at all ,  its "head " hunger that i have ,..........so I am tracking everything I eat on my fitness pal and going back to basics... we all knew going in that this wasnt a fix all but  a tool that we have to use to our advantange ,  you can do this !!! start today !!!

The tool is not the problem here.  I'll bet it still works when you use it correctly!  I'm 7 years out.  I had some regain which I re-lost and then some.  It started with going back to support groups, meeting with my nutritionist, and I also use Overeaters Anonymous to live in a state of recovery from compulsive overeating.  It's a complex illness that requires more treatment than just surgery.

When I saw your thread, I wondered why and how you could gain wt back.  I had the sleeve and my tummy is quite small so fill up quickly.  Is your stomach small or is it just re-arranged so the nutrients and calories go down the intestines faster with each bite?

You also, only lost 85 lbs...why is that and not to goal...then take an extra 10# for cushioning for any gains.

As the other posters mentioned, you know what to do and if you've forgotten then go back to the basics and start over....

Good luck to you on your wt loss to be.  Your going to do it!!  I think you may have learned a valuable lesson that the wt can come back so WORK THE PLAN AND IT WILL WORK FOR YOU!!

Hugs, alese  I care!

You are less than a year out. Check back with us in a few years. It is quite easy to regain the further you get out.
