Hello there!  I am 41 years old and just remarried and trying to give my new hubby a baby. Has anyone had any issues with a pregnancy after WLS?

I had my WLS in 12/02 and had my daughter in 8/05.  My ob/gyn was aware and I took extra prenatal vitamins.  She didn't make me drink the sugar stuff for the diabetes test.  I didn't gain nearly as much as I did with my daughter I had pre-wls.  I suffered a bit nutritionally but my daughter was fine. They told me that babies are the perfect parasite and that they will get what they need and you get the rest.  My daughter is turning 9 years old soon and is quite healthy!

Hi! I had my wls in 2003 and got pregnant in 2006 at the age of 42. I'd had fertility issues with pcos and the wls apparently resolved that issue! I gave birth to a healthy baby girl when I was 43. She's now a healthy 7 year old. I was a high risk pregnancy due to my age, not the surgery. It was actually amazingly easy and as long as I kept up on my vitamins and ate right I felt great. I was allowed to continue using my bariatric vitamin regimen instead of switching to prenatals and didn't have to take the diabetes test.
