Saying hello

Hi All!

My name is Aimee, and I am 4 years post op.  Things have been relatively easy for me as far as my surgery goes.  I didn't have any complications, I jumped right into my new life, changed a lot of things, and I am pretty happy.  I am however slowly gaining again.  Currently my goal is to get to the weight I was happiest with me (minus 25 pounds).  Honestly, I don't know how to get back to control again.  I have tried the 5 day pouch test, hated it, I exercise, not as much as I should I will admit, and currently I am nursing a back injury that may require surgery so I have to be careful :(.  Anyway, I am hoping to make some friends on the same journey that might be able to help, maybe we can do this together and help each other.

Hi Aimee!

I had my six year follow up this past Wednesday.  I'm up a few pounds and am PETRIFIED of regain! It is a matter of doing some remedial RNY 101 to get back down to my 170-175 where I'd prefer to be.  Hand out of the candy bowl at work, gnaw on a few more protein bars like I did in the beginning and keep up with the treadmill time.

Hey Aimee.....I have gained....way too much!  I'm trying to get back into viewing this site more often as it was a great help at the beginning of my weight loss journey.  Recently I decided to really buckle down and stop with the darn carbs....easier said than done.  But I'm doing some "ahead" meals and snacks in the hopes that this will help.    I plan to dig out my old post-surgery recipes and give it a try.  I don't exercise much but spring coming I will try to get out more.  Maybe we could share small daily victories together.....C/

Small victories, I like that.  My first small victory so far has been one full day of sticking to my "diet".  I got unflavored whey and have been adding it to every meal, I have had 3 protein shakes a day (I got the atkins ones, less carbs and they taste pretty good.)  Protein first for each meal, lots of water.  I got out my Wii fit and started a weight loss goal on there (not savvy enough for an app yet)  I feel good, and like I have some control back, now to lose some pounds!  Glad to meet you all!

"Fitday" is a good place to enter information and keep track of daily goals.  I used to use it.....I think that will be my small victory for today.  Start Fitday and take my sneakers for a walk!
