12 Yrs Now
12 yrs ago I began my journey of WLS and was very successful. I lost 125 lbs and kept the weight off 7 yrs but I then begin to pack it on with other issues. Developed an allergic reaction to ALL NSAIDS, developed Osteopenia, now up to 60 lbs and having to take iron transfusions. I workout, my eating HAS NOT changed but I make more sound choices than ever before. I am not absorbing my B12 vitamins but taking injections every other week. I do not absorb calcium as needed. I am really considering a revision to reconnect my intestines but keep a sleeve on the stoma but something to help me lies those 60 lbs and maintain. Has anyone else developed these issues and what was the outcome? Oh, I now live in Charlotte, NC and that's another factor that I am not able to return to my original surgeon Thayer I loved..
really frustrated!!
Well, you're not alone in battling re-gainl; I think it happens to a lot of us. There is a Back on Track Together Forum here if you want to try non-surgical methods before seeking a revision or surgery change. Here's the link:

Also, I can't tell from your message which surgery you had, but you'll probably get more of a response if you post on that specfic forum rather than here. Just because it's kind of slow here. There is also a revisions forum and a failed weight loss surgery forum. Here are their links:

Good luck to you in re-finding your journey.=)
edited to add: I don't know why the hyperlinks aren't working. looks like you'll have to copy and paste into your browser. sorry
