Have you had skin removal surgery
There are also residency programs here in the US that are much lower in cost. I know Baylor here in Houston has a well-respected program.

My daughter is having a body lift done in Thailand - pretty exotic place to be. She presently lives in the Middle East, so the flight isn't that long. I'd go in a heart beat if I could afford it. What costs have people been quoted in Canada? I've lost 170 lbs and tired of folding excess skin into tight panties, so I don't clap when I walk - lol. My body resembles a Sharpai - haha
I am 6 1/2 years out from my lapband. I lost 107 pounds with the wls. I had a tummy tuck or gut gasher as I like to call it. The tummy tuck was incredible. We have a plastic surgeon who is referred by the wls surgeons. He attends a couple of support groups yearly, is brilliant, and is very inexpensive as far as plastics is concerned. I travel to other countries for vacations, but there is no way I would intentionally have surgery there. I want to be close to my surgeon should I need him.
I have gone from a size 26..about 270 lbs to a size 4( 2 pair if jeans say so :-) ) 139 lbs with sleeve and a trainer. I am booked for a lower body lift with thighs, arms, breast lift with implants ( I am a 32H now but most of it is like a couple of tennis balls in a sweat sock...nice image hey? ). Also getting lower eyelids done.
Surgery is 20 June in Mexico. I am Canadian. Once the surgery is paid, travel and exchange, I will save about 8000.00 over doing it in Canada.
Hi I researched a VERY well known surgeon in California and his cost was about $40, 000.00. So I went to Dr. Sauceda in Mexicao (forum to start research on these boards, then FB has a group once the date is booked). Im in Alberta and the choices I investigated were not appropriate. Here in Canada we do not have many bariatric PS as this surgery is not done as much. There was a gentleman in Edmonton but I couldn't even rate a consultation as he was so busy with patients of the weight wise program in Edmonton, all refferals were bounced back to my FP office without any chance of getting in. All said and done I save alot of money going this route, the surgeon is well known for his technique with our particular skin issues and I am mostly happy with the results. Im still not crazy with my thighs. He recommended a long thigh lift, I wanted less scarring so I went with the small thigh lift turns out he was probably right, lol. Good luck on your journey and be careful who you choose. Our standards in Canada are very high. As a nurse I see this all the time. We won't even accept alot of practitioners into our country until they redo much of their educational components. Just be very careful which country and surgeon you decide upon.
