The same thing has happened with me, I had the flu (even with the flu shot). I went back to a clear liquid diet and started slowly with bland foods that are gastric friendly. Portion control is always important, but even more important is what you eat. Make it count, or don't eat it. Once your system gets back to "normal" you should be fine. Either way you may want to go see your surgeon for a check and talk to him about the "foamies", there's an actual term/diagnosis for that.

I agree with what Sue said.  I was going to recommend trying liquids and working your way back up.  If it persists or hasn't gotten any better, definitely check with your surgeon.

I'm 10 years since Rny, and note that when I eat refined carbs, I experience similar results: hot flush, feeling like I'm stoned, nausea, headache, burning sensation, exhaustion that can last a couple of days.  By greatly reducing refined carbs, or eliminating completely, I don't seem to experience these sensations.  My hubby is a diabetic, and finds refined carbs greatly affects his blood sugar because refined carb**** our system quicker then any other foods, including unrefined carbs- wondering if we are experiencing a similar reaction.

There's really nothing any of us can do for you except to tell you to call your doctor. This is NOT a normal wls  problem.  I would hope you'd already contacted your doctor by now.

Surgery will be hopefully in October or November 2014, with Dr. Megan Gilmore

I would definitely make an appointment with your PCP or your surgeon because what you are experiencing is definitely atypical.

It sounds like maybe you had something more than just the flu and might mot be completely over it.

It would seem sensible to contact your doctor, no-one on here is medically qualified, and even if we were, we don't know you or your medical history.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
