New to WLS in Atlantic Canada

Hi,

I am reaching out for solutions I guess. I am almost 30 years old and I live in Moncton NB. I have been on Dr Beausoliels waiting list for Gastric since May 2011 and I just called today and they are only at June of 2009. In 2010 there are 90 requests. She stated it will be another 3 years . I called Dr savoie and the same story was there. I am desperate. I am tired of this controlling my life and I have tried everything. I am willing to pay if I have to. I called Medicare to see if they cover out of province surgeries and I am waiting to hear back. I am looking for any advice that might quicken the process or if anyone knows how to get medicare to approve out of province surgery.

I am looking for gastric Band . Sooner the better :) Any suggestions would be appreciated whether its medicare advice or best and cheapest place to go for the sugery ASAP

I live in Nova Scotia. I waited 9 years on the list and got my surgery paid. After my surgery success he put his name in the list and the wait is now 14 years. He decided then to go abroad. He went to Tijuana Mexico and had it done a couple of weeks later (under 6000.00 plus flights). I just had a co-worker come back from the same surgeon . Both had great experiences.
