Help falling into old habits
I am right at 2 yrs out and since my vertical sleeve I have had a complete shoulder replacement as well as a partial knee replacement. I have put on 15 lbs since my lowest weight and the surgeon was pretty harsh with me yesterday. I realize like you that I have slid back into some of my old habits and not been able to exercise much BUT we both recognize these things. AND, we are not ignoring them. I took 2 days even before seeing the surgeon and went back to an all fluid diet. That help to prove to myself that I am in control of this. So, I am going back to tracking every ounce, every calorie and every moment I spend exercising.
And, here I am looking for the same encouragement and advice as you. So, in one way, I am glad to know that you are going through similar cir****tances. Warped I know, but I'd like to think that we can help each other. To you I say, you are strong, intellegent and determined. Don't beat yourself up anymore, just move forward. Add another glass of water or other sugar and caffene free fluid into your new day. And push yourself to do just 5 or 10 minutes more moving a each day.
I know it is not easy to break old habits, but you CAN do this!!
Ty for Ur reply at least I'm not the only one I am not going give up I worked to hard to get where I am today I hope Ur shoulder gets better all we can do id push ourselves to do the right thing I don't ever wanna go back were I was I have 15 yr which seen me go through a lot of medical stuff now I have a 3 yr. and I will not put her through maybe we can support each other at I am beating my self up I quit smoking an was on steroids that what kinda threw me off have u heard of 5 day poch test
Yes, but I am not sure that I totally understand it. I really didn't pay that much attention to how much of a pouch I have or had. I have heard of people who stretch their pouch out, but if someone is a grazer like I tend to be the pouch can stay the same size and all the weight can still come back. But we are not that far out nor have we gained a huge amount of weight back so it is really unlikely that we have stretched our pouch. Basically, I jump started myself by going back to all liquids for 2 days. For me that got me more in tune with my actual/physical hunger as well as pull me away from the carbs. Plus I am tracking my calories again. I was always good at getting the water and protein in, but lost my awareness of the calorie intake. In some ways tracking the calories makes me feel more in control.
Now I need to rebuild my exercise routine. I have never gotten that "high" from exercise. And, I definitely do not like to sweat. I really wish I had an exercise partner. Right now it is way to cold here to roll out of bed early and go to the gym for some water exercises. Then once I am on my way home from work, I really have to force myself to stop and walk the track. So, my goal this weekend is to move some things in my basement so that I can put a used, non electric tread mill and old fashion stationary bike down there.
Let me know how things are going for you. I really would appreciate some ongoing communications.
Happy Valentines Day!
