You are doing great!  I am also a stress eater and "grazer" (eat, wait, eat, wait) especially at night.  I find that warm liquids help.  So I usually keep a Bubba mug (24oz) with decaf coffee w/a bit of skim milk & sweetner or decaf tea w/sugar free flavoring.  And, if I really am in need of a food fix I have found Artic Zero an ice cream like product that is 150 calories for the whole pint.  It is enough to really, really fill me up as well as take some time to eat and divert my anxiety some.  Or, if you need crunch, sugar snap peas are also pretty satisfying.  I hope this helps.

I wish you and your friends find the coming days more peaceful.

You have came to a great place for support.  I used to be an emotional eater but it's all trial and error. Don't beat yourself up or feel like a failure that only encourages more emotional stress.  Someone else said it but I'll say it again take 1 day at a time.  You are doing great and this situation wont last forever.  When I'm really frustrated I run.  Try to find something to divert your attention away from food.  I put my kids snacks where I can't see them.  Out of sight, out of mind.  I'm 4 years out and hit my goal weight last year.  So you will plateau. Feel free to friend me.  Food is more than just and emotional connection.  It's very hard to get used to your new life.
