Hello "ALL"

I should know better, right?
I will soon be 7 yrs, post op in March. On a mission to shed some gained wt. and celebrate my graduation in March.
I always knew this might have been the problem, my beloved ****tails of Apple martinis, How much of a impact of consuming alcohol can sabotage weight loss in general? I had to make a real choice this go around, I tried shedding some wt. last yr. but was not too successful, because I was not willing to let the ****tails go! ( did that really make the difference??) In order to at least get a jumpstart,... this time!! I have decided to let the juice go for awhile, do you think I will get real results this time around? Please post some kind feedback and suggestions only.
1. Alcohol can sabotage weight loss every bit as effectively as it can sabotage anything else in life.

2. Do the math of what you are consuming as well as what you might be eating when your judgment is impaired.

Good luck

I do not drink to the point of being drunk or loosing my judgment.(thank you...I did say kind feedback! Stop judging me please) It's mainly a yes...nightly.. relaxing nap cap so to speak. And I am now very aware of the fact that it was sabotaging my wt. loss if efforts were made in an attempt to loose wt. I like my ****tail, but I now know what it's going to take to jumpstart some wt. loss. I will surely have ****tail again, not sure when specifically and I am ok with it. Right now trying to jumpstart wl is more important, then my beloved apple-martinis! & I look forward to it for sure. People like to drink, smoke, gamble, shop, cook, exercise, etc.. I could go on. Please show concern if I said I can not stop at all, the fact is I did, because loosing wt. right now takes precedence, over the ****tail.
It's hard to loose wt. & cut off the juice, do you have no compassion? lol.
stay calm, you took my post out of context, I am sure.
Peace.

No judgment intended, I thought my feedback was rather straight forward, not sure what else you might be looking for. Glad to hear things are going well.

Were good!
However you post did make me think & re-assess at different levels. Which made me dig deeper, so I do thank you for that!

Alcohol is 7 calories per gram. This means a glass of a dry wine might be 175 calories and maybe 160 for the appletini depending on the preparation.

So the real question is, if you want a drink what food will you not eat to compensate?

exactly.... that is something I must truthfully consider once I reach goals, right, because at what cost? shall I have my beloved ****tail.
because freely indulging in both, equally? is not very thinning huh? lol. Thanks for making me dig deeper in the thought of how I will need to adjust accordingly, to loose & maintain wt. loss.
You Rock!

Hey ladybug

I had to stop drinking all together. I did research and your body will stop metabolize because it tries to break down the alcohol. It will stop you from losing weight.

I haven't had surgery, but I do have history with addiction.

I think a great way to help you jumpstart your loss again is to maybe consider seeing a mental health professional to help you sort yourself out a bit. Comparing losing weight to giving up alcohol is concerning to me. Good luck in whatever you choose to do and congrats on taking a the next step!
