Anyone suffer with upper belly pain mainly to the right and moves over to the center under ribs?  I've been x-rayed and have been constipated but other than that no other details.  It hurts mainly in the early morning before eating which i think is odd and bending over causes pain.  Had RNY over 4 years ago and still have gallbladder but it's not a sharp pain.  I also have recurring GERD.  Thanks, Nan.

I had the surgeons look all around when I had my surgery because I have had the same pain for 5 years. I have IBS and Gerd.  They saw nothing.  My doc's best guess from using xrays and scans is that when I am constipated, that is the area that gets the hard stool and that causes the pain.  It is so frustrating to have pain.  Since I have not been constipated, the pain has not come back.

Count me in on that. Everytime I get a pain its under my right rib cage. It was sooooo bad once I ended up in the ER. Lots of testing. It was constipation. Now when I get that twinge I up the water intake and eat something with a higher fat content to get things moving.

Yes I get that pain often in the same place have had it for a few years now and I also have GERD but take pills for that.  I had a Upper GI done last month and they found a hernia and gastric poylops.

Thanks for your replies, waiting on the colonoscopy but they did find a lesion on my liver which is where the pain is and after the 4th peek at it I'm now waiting on what they think they will do next, hopefully I find out tomorrow!

I am getting these exact same pains since January. I have been hospitalized for a week in February because every time I ate, it caused pain. It came to the point that I no longer wanted to eat. When I was in the hospital, it took 3 enemas to get things going. I was so drugged up, I went back to eating again. I am still in a lot of pain. I try not to take pain meds because they can constipate you. They just took a peek in 2 weeks ago, and told me I was severely impacted. However, they did nothing about it, closed me up and sent me home. They had me drink that horrid saline stuff, and that barely worked. Two days later I had to drink another. A week later, I am back in the same position. Three doses of Milk of Magnesia with nothing...not a happy person. At this point, I have had an upper and lower GI, laproscopic surgery, and tons of pain.

My RNY was June 2013, and was partially impacted a week later, which required a surgery. I was taking FiberCon and Miralax since then, without much of an issue, however in January I had a stomach virus and that's what started all of this.

Seems like it's never going to end and my surgeon doesn't seem to know what's going on. He keeps saying it's constipation and I need to see a "specialist" because it keeps recourring.
