almost 6 years out with questions
I wi**** were that simple for me. I gain weight at that many calories per pound. I am middle-aged, so like most middle-aged women, I need fewer calories than when young. And my body has always been extremely efficient in holding on to energy--i.e. calories! So it is still a learning process even at this far out.
Check out this book, and see if it helps you get back to your post surgery weight loss...
The 5 Day Pouch Test by Kaye Bailey. I found it on Amazon after my nurse recommended it. It has some good ideas, and suggests that you consider yourself with a disease, much like cancer, in that you can get into remission by eating right. If you treat yourself as if what you have is a disease (morbid obesity) that goes into remission, it might be easier to make the right choices. The book helps you use your tool again. Talks about slider foods (carbs) and not drinking liquids 30 minutes before or after your meal.
Anyway... I started on this a few days ago. First 2 days are liquid. But I wasn't hungry. You can have as much as you want. Today is soft proteins... (it's similar to the diet you were on post surgery). Tomorrow firm proteins.
I've lost 6 lbs, and feel great and hopeful.
Good luck and be kind to yourself!
