Plastic surgery

Just a quick post about plastic surgery after gastric bypass. Pursue it! I'm at my goal weight after a RNY in 2007. My health insurance approved surgery on my abdomen and I'm so excited! I will also be doing my thighs at my expense and then my arms at a later date. I can honestly say that I'm a healthier, happier person and it was worth the journey!

I wish insurance would pay for my abdomen but I don't meet the requirements. 

What are the requirements for insurance to cover plastics?

It varies, read your coverage  document for plastic/reconstructive surgery.  My abdomen was covered.  My insurance wanted documented Dr visits and prescription treatment of skin irritation/rashes for a period of many months.  Plus the skin had to hang a certain amount.  I had a co insurance amount of $1000 plus my deductible.
