I am over 2 years post op. I have 20 pounds left to reach my goal. I have thought about going to weigh****chers to help me achieve this and was wondering if anyone else has tried that?

yeah i've thought about doing it too. The trainers at the gym really push that "eat clean ' diet, well, the eat clean lifestyle. They say not to eat anything processed. Easier  said than done.

Two years out and feel like I am starting over from the beginning.  Which diet plan do I start next.  I just so sick of it all.  I feel like I have done  all my hard work and suffering to have been for nothing.   Because. I am slowly regaining and I doing everything I can not to regain my weight.  I feel so hopeless again. Face It.  The only way we lose weight is not eat anything at all.  That was the point of surgery was it not.  they really did teach anything new.  Small bites and no drinking with meal.  Water only.

I'm confused.

If you are doing everything you can do to not regain your weight, then you wouldn't be regaining your weight.

Sounds like instead you are on a pitty pot, wondering why the magical surgery didn't fix your life.

The magic is you: eat properly and exercise. You know that, right?

It works if you work it; it sorta works if you sorta work it; and it doesn't work if you don't work it.

I am 3 years post op and started gaining it back rapidly after year 2..(regained 38% or 45 lbs). Cause of sudden weight gain was medical and medication but it still didn't come off as quickly as it went on.  Sort of feel like trying anything that would get it started in the right direction. Even tried BodyFit media arm band with diet/fitness log and lost 3# in 6 weeks. I thought I had the key to maintenance after getting to goal and maintaining for over a year.  Problem with "outside sources" such as gyms, diet programs is that they don't necessarily take into account what works for bypass patients.  While the surgeon is important in the process, the rest of the program that gets you to goal and helps you figure out what is not working when your results aren't ideal is even more important and not all programs provide that key element.  If it isn't really radical (which WW isn't), it probably won't do any harm but it can be expensive.  Can you go back to your bariatric center and get advice from them?

I'm almost 14 years out from RNY and have regained and lost 40-50 pounds a few times since my original loss of 120 pounds.  I've tried several methods to help lose the regained weight over the years including WW.  I believe that their program can be a helpful tool as you work to get to your goal.

The only caution I'd add is that you are very likely to hear both leaders and members say that WLS is taking the easy way out and that WW is a superior way to lose weight.  If you can deal with these comments the diet plan and support available there can be very helpful.

I go to WW, the leaders know I had weight loss surgery and that's it.  I don't have a support group here, the closest one is 2 hours away.  Right now I'm counting calories, carbs and protein so I'm not following their points program.  I go for the support and accountability.
