I'm 10 years out and have had 2 children during that time. Pre op I weighed 305 and I was down to 135. I'm up to 150 now. I've started taking ACE a dietary supplement to reduce hunger and cravings I love it because I feel like a fresh postie all over again but without the surgical pain! I also take it to increase my energy. I started a new job a little over a year ago that puts me behind a desk most of the time. The increased energy is really helping my workouts! My hubby and I are in the last week of Shaun T's 60 day Insanity workout program. I'm much healthier and more fit even though the scale really hasn't gone down much! My biggest accomplishment in eating ha*****ange has been eating fewer chips. Ilovechips. But since I've been on ACE I haven't craved them like I used to. It's still all about making good decisions. THe pouch is our best tool. We still have to use it wisely though! Me included.
I am there too. I am 5 yrs out and have put on a few pounds. Originally I lost 130 pounds and my surgeon was not to happy because I had lost to much. I was down to 119 pounds and a size 0-4. Told me if I didn't get in in control I would be needing a feeding tube. Never thought I would be told to put on a few pounds, even five pounds he would settle with. I did as instructed but this last year have been the worst. I am putting on pounds with out trying. I have good food days and really bad food days. I get days of stuck foods, the same foods that worked the day prior. I have days of forgetting to eat because I am never really hungry. I am 10 pounds above where the ideal doctors scale wants me to be, he wanted me at 150 I am now I60 and I wanted 125. SO it is the battle of the doc/patient. I feel crappy at this weight. I work out, eat small and still the scale is heading north vs south. UGGG!

I'm chiming in to include myself in the 10# regain category. I'm 2 1/2 yrs. out. Reached my goal weight of 150# and had maintained it for a year. The last few months the pounds have crept on. I am going to get back to the basics but I have been trying to analyze what has changed. Right off the bat it's been the introduction of crackers, pretzels, bread back into the diet and also more fatty foods. It has become quite clear that I am now absorbing mostly all my calories now. Lately I have to say I have felt honest to goodness hungry a good part of the day. Most probably directly related to eating the slider foods. It's been a while since I've been an active member here but I'm back to stay. Let's get back on track. i know we can do it!
I am three years out from sleeve surgery. I lost all of my weight, about 90 pounds, in the first six months. Then I visited the dietician and she told me I needed more carbs. Weight loss stopped. I was at 150, 10 pounds above my goal. I maintained that 150 for a year. Then my neurologist put me on amitriptyline for migraine prevention and I gained 20 pounds, I swear in like two weeks! He took me off that, and put me on a similar drug, but I could not lose that 20 pounds. Then I gained a little more, until I was at 178 from 150! I nearly had a heart attack. I tried to go back to basics, but just seemed out of control. I started going to Overeaters Anonymous, because it is about compulsive overeating. I didn't realize how much I was using food as a drug, and how much it was controlling me. Anyway, the OA journey is intense, and spiritual.
I had an appointment with my bariatric surgeon, and I had panic attacks about going. My therapist talked me down, and my doctor was awesome. He had me do a diet diary for a week. I was really honest. He told me I eat really well, and could just keep doing what I was doing (NOT!), get a personal trainer twice a week ($$$$$) or go on the pre-op diet for two weeks and see how that does. I've been on the pre-op diet for about a week, and have lost weight on it. I'm in ketosis, so burning fat. I'm curious to see how much I will lose in two weeks. My clothes are fitting better. Maybe I'll just keep doing it until I get back to my 150.
I need to up my exercise, but honestly, it's really hard to burn enough calories with exercise. I exercise for my health. I was running, but started having trouble with my knee. Have an order to physical therapy to work on that, because I really liked it and want to get back to it. I am also considering the personal trainer, even though I can't afford it. Maybe just work with someone enough to get a good routine, and learn good form. I would like to do free weights.
Thanks for starting this thread.
