Third year surgerversary

This is my third year surgerversary. I have lost a total of 153 pounds!! I went from a size 24 to a size 6.  I thank god that I had this amazing opportunity and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I have to say that I have been so fortunate not have any issues (knock on wood!)  I still drink protein shakes almost every morning, I eat a small lunch, usually a salad or a Wendy’s chili. And for dinner I cook for the entire family so I eat almost everything. I only eat from a small saucer plate. I refuse to go any bigger! There are days that I think, oh man my pouch stretched and I can eat way more than usual. Then other days I can get full off 4 cheese and crackers! I do have to say I graze often… mostly at night when I get home from work.

I keep myself in check and weigh myself every day. I will go up 1-2 pound and never go over that. I have lost only 10 pounds in the last year, but I am ok with that, it is better than gaining! I haven’t exercised regularly but do walk and yard work… but haven’t gone to the gym in over a year.

I have to say that I do not tell anyone about this surgery, I am embarrassed of how I was before and want to leave that part of me behind. I was laid off the week after surgery and the people that I used to work with only now see Facebook pics and always ask, what is your secret… I tell them I eat a lot less! LOL.

I have a lot of extra skin / flab… I thought I would be in a bikini being a size 6… but I don’t wear anything shorter then capris and ¾ length sleeve shirts! I wear compression tanks to hold in my stomach because it is all mush. I don’t want to scare anyone but these are the things that happen when you lose so much weight! And I am OK with it! I would love to get surgery but it is very expensive!

Good luck to all and believe in yourself!

Congratulations! I just posted today on my 4th year post op.

I especially admire your commitment to steer clear of regain. I've been vulnerable to it - nothing I can't handle, but I need to take off 15 lbs. before they turn into 20!

Best wishes on the next steps in your journey!

Congrats!!! I just had mine as well. And about the the same results. The funny thing is I'm exactly the same when it comes to clothes. Still need to lose another 40 pds and I'm between a size 4 and 6. I'm also 5'. Because of the skin I won't wear short sleeve/no sleeve or shorts either & forget a bathing suit. But I'm very happy with the results and going to continue try to lose the last of the weight. Hoping the money falls into my lap for a full body lift & a boob job. lol

Keep up the good work and congrats God is good all the time all the time God I'd good. Be blessed always I too have skin but I also wear 3/4 sleeves and body shapers. But I am not having plastic surgery to each his own I am just thankful to God for seeing me through  the surgery and being alive because I had everything high BP ,high cholesterol , diabetic now BP in under control not a diabetic still elevated cholesterol .
