Really? I say. Interesting, I'm on a similar diet where I have to increase my calories and protein, but I have to be on a low-fiber, low-residue diet for a while until I see my dietitian next time in a few weeks. I was told not to eat raw veggies and to go with cooked veggies, also the diet that I am on is a soft food diet where I have to imagine that I have no teeth, weird, Right? I can relate. I am on this diet because of my intestines. My intestines have bothered me in the last week of June and the begining og July of 2013 and it has a name of "small bowel obstruction". I have when I have it. I wish you the very best and luck in your future.

Wow! It seems like you have been through a lot most recently. Sorry that you had to have a hernia repair and need for knee surgery. You have been very successful with your sleeve though. I'm curious to who did your surgery, what size your sleeve is and if you follow a certain meal plan. I have heard of some folks with the sleeve really struggling to get to goal and maintain. What do you attribute your success to? I'm asking because I'm contemplating sleeve or duodenal switch surgery and was leaning towards DS because many have told me that I couldn't lose 150 lbs on the sleeve or keep it off. You have proven differently so I'm really curious about what has helped you succeed. Would love to hear your story.

I see you are asking for help. Is it because you are having difficulty maintaining your weight? If so I am sorry to hear that. I'm a newbie investigating surgeries so I do not want to advise you incorrectly but I do hope that you find your answers.

Yup. I have. Thank you, I had my left knee done already (Total Knee Replacement {had it done on 04/09/2013}), tomorrow (09/08/2013) I have a MRI test (MRI Cerebral Spinal Flow Study) to find out if I need surgery or not for my Chiari Malformation Type 1, if the test comes out negative I won't need surgery, if the test comes out positive then I'll need surgery. I still need to have my right knee (total knee replacement) and both hips (total hip replacement on each hip), I still have a long road ahead of me for at least two more years if not more. Yes I had a very succesfull VGS surgery, I had Dr. Nagle, I'm not sure on the size of my Sleeve is, but I know that 80% to 85% of my stomach had been removed which means that I have 15% to 20% of a stomach left. As far as the meals goes I'm on a regular diet with protein, fiber, fruit without skin, and some other things I have to stay from the skin, I'm also on a some what low surger and some what low carbohydrate and some other things I can't think of at this points. I also get in my protein drinks. I have heard too about folks having trouble with the Sleeve. I've heard that some folks have trouble with the Sleeve too. I just follow the my surgeon's and Dietitian's rules and just put my mind to it. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish (believe) anyting. I wish you the best between the Sleeve and the Duodenal, that'll be between you and your surgeon. Really? I've lost over 350 pounds with the Sleeve. I have proven differently, everyone is different when it comes to weight loss surgery. I justfollow the rules that my surgeon and dietitian gave me to follow and I follow it and put my mind to it.

Yes, I'm having some trouble with maintaining my weight, it seems that I'm still losing the weight, but at the same time that my weight would stop losing and level out the it would go up a some then lose the weight and level off again. It's been like this for at least 6 months or so if not loner than that. Thank you. Welcome to ObesityHelp. I wish you the very best on you journey. I hope all goes well for you, I'll find my answers. Thanks again.

I'm sorry it took me awhile to reply to your post I've been so busy with life off & on, it's een crazy at times.

I had at least 3 occasions when I had a stop in my weight loss. the last was at 150lbs for 2 years, then sudden drop of 15 lbs after a stenous exercise regime. It is a strange journey.
