Hi, I had VSG a little over 3 years ago. Lost about 100lbs, and have stayed within 5lbs of that since then. But this last month, I've noticed a slow 4lb creep up....I know it isn't a lot, but I'm freaking out. I've worked out more the last couple of weeks and was hoping it was just some water retention, but I'm up again today. Please tell me this isn't the end of the world!! I feel like before I know it I'll be back up pre-op. :(

hi,I am also almost 3 years, sleeve. I haven't  gotten to my dream weight but I gained 6 pounds from my lowest.I am afraid if I don't get back to what i was doing before I will gain more, Don't freak out,I saw another post and one person said take it 1 day at a time, don't beat yourself up and just try to see what it could be,did you ever write down what you ate and aren't doing it anymore? I myself am snacking too much while watching the baseball game! ugh! i also haven't been on the  treadmill like i used to. 4 pounds is not bad,BUT you need to take control now.Good for you that you aren't waiting. We don't want to be statistics!

Don't let anyone poo poo you freaking out over four pounds. We didn't wake up 100 pounds overweight, over night......it happened 2, 4, 8, 9 lbs at a time. We must be diligent, forever, there is NO END DATE to this commitment we've made. My surgery was June 11, 2010, just over three years ago. This is what I do and what helps me continue to be successful. I know me and I know that I could easily gain eight or ten pounds in a month.....therefore, this is what I MUST do, it's all as natural to me now, as breathing!!

I weigh EVERY single day
I weight and/or measure my food when I am home
I am going to work on finding a discreet little scale to carry with me!!
I log all my food on line (i use my fitness pal)
I in fact have most of my family doing it as well. 31 yr old daughter who is a non-op, just a little 'baby fat', has lost 20 lbs doing nothing but logging her calories
Hubby, who wasn't trying to lose, has lost 7, which puts him under 200, he's almost 6'4"

I attend support group meetings every month. I thought I'd attend ONE, but I think I'm an addict, there are four different ones that I attend, my husband, AKA my cheerleader, goes with me.

I call this my dashboard, just like on my truck, I know my numbers: weigh, protein, calories.....and I had a comfort zone, 143.5 - 146.5. If my daily morning weigh in is at 147, I know I need to adjust/change something, just like I know by watching the dashboard in my truck. If I am up to 147 or 147.5, I lower my calories from 1300 per day, to 1200 per day. That 100 calories is all I need to drop a couple of pounds. I will do it in two - three days, no problem.

Try it, I am SURE it will work. If it makes you feel any better, there is a PhD doctor that speaks at one of my group meetings, he is great....I asked him if seeing him one on one would be beneficial, if he could help my head wise....I asked if he could fix this fear of waking up 25 pounds heavier and with a ravenous hunger that I no longer have. He said, and i quote "A little paranoia is good" He says it keeps us conscious of what we are doing and makes it less likely that we'll fall back into old habits. GREAT, I am holding on to that, I am not a total nut!!!

Good luck, four lbs, no problem, you can do it!
