Can you kept your calories under 1000?
1000 calories seems pretty low. I wouldn't eat less the 1200 to lose weight or you will just teach your body how to survive on very few calories. It may come off slower but it will come off and eventually your metabolism should pick up once it figures out that you aren't in a starvation situation. Keep as active as possible to rev up your metabolism and keep eating healthy.

When I was losing weight, 800 calories with 50% of calories from protein was perfect.
I checked an old food log, there were 3 protein shakes, then Breakfast as like 1/2 cup Kashi and Milk, Lunch was 2/3 cup cottage cheese and apple sauce, and Supper was a cup of chili. Combined it was 776 calories.
Things were spread out so if meals were at 7, Noon and 5 then shakes were at 9:30, 2:30 and 7:30.
There was also 40 mins of walking (every day).
I can and do when I have to. But most of the time - 1200 is all I need to start losing plus some exercise.
But at the same time - I would keep my food very clean - with very little processed foods - mostly veggies, proteins and fats. Not only that kept my calories down but also kept me full

Why no veggies? They're so good... they're filling, they're low calorie, they taste good and add variety to a high protein diet and they have fiber. That last one is important to me, I refuse to live on laxatives forever.
I can't imagine eating less than 1200-1400 calories to begin with. It's just enough to keep me alive. A few days of that and exercise performance goes down the toilet and I'm a zombie. Do you know what your daily caloric needs are? Really, I know our metabolisms are crashed and some of us have hypothyroid and tired adrenals too but under 1000 seems way too low. If I were you, I'd get my BMR tested somewhere that uses MedGem. It's not perfect, but it's a much better predictor of your basal metabolic rate than a calculator on the internet. Or, If you know what calories you were maintaining on, cut them by 300 calories a day. You make a drastic cut and your body is going to rebel. I tried that and after not losing for 3 months I quit, went back to maintenance and actually gained a little bit. Therefore, I had only succeeded in slowing down my metabolism. My body is WONDERFUL at not letting go of pounds when its starving. I think most of us have incredibly adapted bodies when it comes to dieting. That's why we needed surgery in the first place. Yay me, I'll still be fat in an apocalypse.
My surgeon has us work up to 1000-1200 calories per day by one year out and forever after that. He doesn't have his patients on any protein shakes so it's all from regular food. I've stuck to that pretty much (I adjust up or down depending on my activity level) but the numbers stay about the same 1200 a day is ok for us post ops. I've been doing it for over 11 years now and it works well for me. I still do protein forward or only meals, and veggies on the side. No bread and I limit tortillas or other carbs so I don't go overboard.

Now realizing how severe this sounds, I urge you to talk with your Dr or nut first. However I think if your documentation from the surgery is like mine maintenance is estimated at 1200 calories. So to lose you must eat less. It will be sort of an experiment for me to figure out what calorie count maintains or loses right now what I am doing causes me to lose. I have received a lot of negative feedback from people I have discussed this with. Mainly pointing out the calorie count and starvation mode etc. so I put it to the nut as well. In her opinion Rnyers are a separate group and the normal rules do not apply. Our plans have to be adjusted for the surgery, activity level etc..
