Hello, On November 2, 2011, I had a Gastric Bypass by Dr. Gordon and I've lost almost 200 pounds. While I'm thrilled with the weight loss, the skin from my stomach is causing significant irritation and its interfering with my sleeping, getting dressed and hygiene. I no longer have breasts. It literally looks like I had a mastectomy when I lay down. The skin itself fits into a bra, but there is no actual tissue left. Given this set of cir****tances, do you know of a post bariatric surgeon who will perform surgeries to correct my problems and who also accept Medicare/Medicaid? Very sincerely, Marcy Palmeri 813-210-1692Marcy, might I suggest you remove your phone number? It's really unsafe to have this out here or on any public site. Let people contract you via PM and then you can decide to communicate through phone if needed.
Sorry I can't help with this but I do suggest you use a plastic surgeon and not a general surgeon for better results. Do you know if Medicare/Medicaid pays for any skin extraction? I doubt they'll pay for implants but if you are having skin irritation and loss of mobility you may be able to get them to pay for reconstruction....it's not cosmetic and you don't want to have a conversation with them about cosmetic surgery as insurance companies will not pay to make us look better in a cosmetic way.
