How many carbs a day to lose weight?

You can lose weight without monitoring your carbs at all, if you are interested.  

80 grams protein

Calories under 1200

Most people will lose at least a pound a week or more just doing that. 

Plus, if you eat dense protein first and then veggies and keeps your carbs on the lower end.  You will lose.  Tracking your calories will limit your carb intake automatically, as long as you are making wise choices and keeping your protein up.  If you feel carbs are your down fall, cutting out all the sugary ones can help control that.  But I am not an advocate for cutting out all fruits or even  potatoes or all grains.  They are part of a balanced diet.
