Food intolerances/IBS after WLS
I got diagnosed with IBS this summer. I have had stomach issues for a long time and have actually traced it back at least 10 years but can't figure out if I had issues before my WLS 10 years ago or not. So did anyone develop food intolerances/GI issues after WLS? I'm not talking about sugar, I'm talking about things like beans, gluten, potatoes, peppers, etc.
I have been gluten free for awhile now but still having GI issues. I have been following a Whole 30 plan and while on it realized that Nightshade foods have been giving me issues too. i finished my Whole 30 and was slowly reintroducing foods last week but got sloppy and ate too many different foods. The result of course was awful GI issues but now having to follow the Whole 30 for a little longer to get my tummy better so that I can start reintroducing foods again.
There are number of foods that I eliminated from my diet. Some completely - some - 99% of the time. I do developed some food allergy but I have not be able to see a doc to have it diagnosed. I know that SA, Beans, some raw veggies are really problematic for me so I have been avoiding them. Beans, soy - are the worst. SA - don't even mention that. I also developed sensitivity to artificial sweeteners. Last couple of year I am sure I developed some allergy to dairy ... but whey and cheese plus yogurt are one of my main sources of proteins and when I try to just eat meats and some veggies - I end up severely constipated. Darn you do - darn - you don't. I do not have runs too much, rather the opposite, but the gas or everything else is causing a lot of pain and cramping. But that may be also due adhesion... that I most likely have by now..
