Almost 10 years out

I am almost 10 years out from RNY.  I started at 301 and am currently 168 or so.  I have been about 178 for the past 5 years.  I have 2 children post-RNY and only gained about 20 and 15 pounds with each.  I was diagnosed with IBS this last summer but have been having issues for at least 10 years or more.  This last month, I have been following the Whole 30 program and have learned so much about myself and my body.  I exercise off and on for the last 10 years but am really trying to get going on the Couch to 5K program.
I would like to lose another 20 or so pounds and am slowly getting there.

Wow it great to see someone out there that has had the surgery as long as I have.  March 3 I will be 10 years out but I didn't lose all the weight I went from 300 down to 198 and I've gained up to 227 pounds but my plans are to lose some more weight this year on my 10th anniversary.  Good luck to you.

Awesome Kathy.  I have another friend who had surgery around the same time as me and probably gained about the same amount as you.  I'm really not sure why I have not gained any back since I have had lots of changes in the last 6 years: marriage, and 2 kids.  LOL.

It will be 8 years for me in March.  i went from 262 to 128.  This year DH was very ill--spent 15 weeks in hospital/rehab.  I stayed with him and lived out of vending machines.  I have gained up to 150 and am trying to lose 20 pounds.  I can not seem to make much progress.

Wow Ruby.  So sorry about your husband.  I hope that he is doing better.  I hope that you can get your groove back to lose the weight.

I know the only way I will lose the weight is to make it the most important thing in my life.  I just can not get my act together.  Oh well, I will just have to keep on keeping on.  LOL

Husband is better.  He can not walk very good and his mind is a bit off,  Long story.

Good luck to you.

Hi Melanie, I will be 10 years out from RNY come June 25th 2003.  I started at 290, lowest was 137 two years later., but I am 5 foot 10, and I was underweight and was told I needed to gain up to 165.  I have gained and lost the same 10-20 pounds over the last 10 years.  I was at my skinnest when I was working out 4 times a week and following the rules. (60 grams of protein, ect ect ect).  I am 170 right now.  I want to loose 20 pounds before June 25th for my 10 year anniversary.  I am also seriously thinking about having the tummy tuck done that I have wanted for 8 years.

I hope you see this. I realize your post is about 3 years old.

I'm 11 years out. I have both Whole 30 books & tried it for 3 weeks. Stopped because of NO energy. I'm sure I wasn't doing it right & not eating enough. I'd appreciate knowing your experience with it. I'm having health problems that have stumped the doctors. I'm seeing a gastroenterologist. In fact, I'm getting scoped tomorrow.
